Dr. Elizabeth Ann Cefalu, MD

I recently had a new patient appointment with Dr. Cefalu. Her office gave me a medical history information packet to complete prior to my first appointment. During my first appointment I spent an hour with her assistant verifying all of my history. I spent another hour with Dr. Cefalu. She asked great questions, made some suggestions, and recommendations. I felt listened to, respected, and that she was really interested in getting to know my history in order to know how to treat me.

Dr Cefalu was able to get me in as a new patient in short notice. She and her office/staff were friendly and thorough. Dr Cefalu took plenty of time to address my issue and I was not hurried thru the visit. Highly recommend her services.

Beware. She will have you coming constantly for the money. She fabricated things and puts them on your record. I have so many things wrong with me according to her. I am healthy and have nothing wrong. Thought she was great at first but sure Lear ed otherwise.

Dr Cefalu and staff are the best. She answers all questions so that the patient has a clear understanding. You feel like you are part of a family. Staff is exceptional. I highly recommend this practice.

Excellent primary care doctor with great referrals.

Reading some of the reviews here, I find it hard thinking we are talking about the same doctor. I am 74 years old, have worked in a hospital and have had a number of general internist over the years. I find Dr. Cefalu to be incredibly comprehensive finding health problems that I never complained about. She always spends enough time with me is outgoing makes sure I understand any issue. He staff also is fine and they have called me several times to check on any issue I may be having.

I just had a new patient visit with Dr. Cefalu and she was amazing. I just needed a routine check up but she really dug into my past medical records and recommended some important follow up care. It was a pleasant, enjoyable visit. She spent a long time with me and I never felt rushed. I would highly recommend her.

I switched MD after 13 years due to health insurance coverage. Dr. C was the only local option not affiliated with millennium or Bayfront. I waited over an hour to be seen for scheduled " new patient visit" she has no ARNP or nurses. Just herself and medical receptionists w/ one possible MA or CNA. The wait EVERY time is always an hour or more. I'm very uncomfortable when having to discuss issues and feel she is annoyed if I bring up topics/issues. I went for my normal physical that is FREE yet I had a $40 co pay. When I asked why a co-pay when it was my annual, free, physical they said because the doctor "went over lab work" during my physical YET, she's the one who told me to have routine labs done prior to my physical so she can see the results during next appointment, results were fine, no issues, So I was charged $40 so she can say " labs look good". She also has school hours so anything after 3pm is almost impossible and she is off school days so taking your child is hard to do… as well ( esp when its going to take you a good 2 hours to get in and out) I stuck it out for a few more visits hoping it will change but now I'm avoiding my health because I just don't want to see her or go through the hassle of finding another new doctor :( I feel she would be better in another office as an on call doc or as an assisting doctor. She isn't ready for a family practice by herself.
