Dr. Elizabeth Claire Dees

I went for a five minute visit to Dr. Elizabeth Dees and paid the usual specialist copay with my Blue Cross PPO Insurance. Months later I received a bill for $400 and another for $251, supposedly a physician and hospital facility fee. This was so shocking to me. I have spent hours on the phone trying to find out what is going on, but UNC Billing just keeps sending it to the next person. I also contacted Dr. Dee's nurse but she just said they don't deal with billing and that I should call UNC Billing. I visited you! You are the ones charging me! I trusted you! You should look into what is happening to your patients after they visit you! What saddens me the most, besides losing $650 that I could have spent on cheering myself up after having cancer, is that those who are supposed to care are robbing cancer patients. What could be a lower thing to do than to cause stress and a feeling of helplessness in patients who are already suffering so much?

It is totally unbelievable that Dr. Dees would receive a low rating!! I have been her patient for a decade and have received exemplary care. I should have been dead years ago dealing with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and no doubt would have been if it were not for the very skilled, knowledgeable and compassionate care of Dr. Claire Dees. She is no less than amazing in caring for her patients. ALL of her peers admire and respect her. All of her nurses praise her. I only just now stumbled on this avenue to comment about her. Anyone who would make negative comments about Dr. Dees surely does not know the Dr. Dees that I am beyond blessed to know! Sincerely, Charlotte Woods

I waited a month for an appointment, and then waited an hour and a half in the exam room. I finally left, never having seen the doctor or gotten any indication when she would appear. Her staff, especially her Nurse Practitioner, Anna Owens, were not helpful at all. They were all very apologetic the next day after I complained, but what good is that? Avoid this office if you can!
