Dr. Elizabeth Ray Dei Rossi, MD

As a doctor she had no empathy, no patience to listen. Went into an emergency room, she didn’t explain anything, and if asked questions didn’t think that you as a patient need to be told what is happening, what tests are being done and what are they injecting you with. She did not follow up either. Don’t recommend her for emergency visits.

I was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco last Saturday. I was extremely dehydrated with uncontrollable diarrhea. The emergency room physician was Dr. Elizabeth Dei Rossi. I was extremely weak and unsteady on my feet. I was given 1 liter of rehydrating fluid. To my surprise Dr. Dei Rossi stated that I would be discharged shortly. I explained that I was very weak and not comfortable returning to my home until I felt more confident on my feet. I had been unable to eat or drink for 5 days prior to arriving at St. Mary’s. (I am still ill, and have no idea why this diarrhea has not stopped, or why it began in the first place.). I was given discharge papers shortly after my rehydration. My request for a second liter of fluid was ignored. I was given the discharge papers before making a call to my husband to pick me up. I waited in the emergency room wrongly assuming that someone with a wheelchair would come to get me when he arrived. I was surprised when my… husband came to retrieve me in the room. He had to find me himself. I was not offered assistance or a wheelchair and walked to the car assisted by my husband alone. In fact, I did not see Dr. Dei Rossi again, after expressing my displeasure. I consider my care at St. Mary’s/Sutter Health last Saturday sub-standard and unprofessional.
