Dr. Elizabeth Yvonne Evans, MD

I've been a patient of hers for many many years and she has gone through so many staff members I care to count. She currently had an older nurse/ medical aide working for her that is always mispronouncing my name and is very rude over the phone. I was sad to hear that the young lady she had working for her is longer at the office she was kind and caring unlike the staff she has now. I recently called to try and get a prescription and an appt and was told that I couldn't get either! After 2 years of being a patient of Dr Evans I an ready to leave the office. Her practice is suffering greatly it is very evident, her aide has hinted many times that's she's financially unstable this is not a place I want to be getting treatment from

This doctor is very rude, has no bedside manners very unprofessional. I do not recommend this doctor to anyon.

As someone who was severely violated a number of times by the medical community, Dr. Evans has restored my faith. I had a serious issue that was misdiagnosed and mistreated resulting in a condition that was disfiguring and life threatening. Dr. Evans was highly professional, kind and caring. Her diagnosis was accurate and treatment effective. She is now my primary care physician whom I recommend highly. I was treated like a human being not a number or a case history as so many doctors do these days. Her staff is a reflection of the commitment she has to her patients.

I had never felt so judged, berated, ashamed, and/or humiliated as I was my first office vist. After abruptly losing my PCP 3 weeks prior , I spent a week answering questions, gathering files and making my first visit run as smoothly as possible. When met by Dr. Evans immediately felt humiliated when she said she does not prescribe Narcotic drugs nor deals with mental health issues and did I know what her field was ? I was clear open and honest with office upon making my first appointment about being on meds, abruptly losing my PCP due to an outstanding bill, and needed a PCP immediately . I was spoke down to me as if I were a drug addict only seeking meds, and was repeatidly interrupted as I was trying to ask, simple what I needed to do, because my health is now at risk when my scripts can not be filled. She was rude, crass, and the most unprofessional care person I have ever encountered. I did when leaving tell her actally my experince I just had with her, and she dismissed… me and simple said I have broncitisis and do not feel well, which judging by how sick she was herself should not have been seeing Patient. Let alone be in this profession . Not remotely worth any rating.

I love Dr. Evans, I have been seeing her for years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Even when I moved to New Haven from West Hartford I didn't switch doctor's because I am comfortable with her. She is very sweet and diagnoses whatever problem you have accurately. I recommend her to anyone.

I am very impressed with the office staff at this office. The receptionist though looks young is very calm,professional and tries to do her best.The nurse was very knowledgeable, polite, and friendly. There was not a question that I asked her that she did not try to find the answer to, even when she didn't know it she would say that she will find out and call me if she didn't know the answer at my appointment time. She is such a good addition to the practice and she goes above and beyond to help me as a pt. I have sat in the waiting room and even seen her try to juggle her job duties and help the receptionist at the same time, and even help to put pt's in rooms, at my visit the doctor took forever to see me but she kept coming in the room to let me know the doctor will be in soon or even made small talks to appease me. I don't think this doctor has ever had any one so professional as this nurse is even at times when I notice the doctor is very harsh on her nurse and receptionist.… Best staff she's had in a while.

My wife was referred to Dr. Evans. She made an appointment and before she went I faxed over all the paper work they required including a copy of our insurance card. After waiting 45 minutes in the waiting room my wife was told she needed to pay a $100 copay. Clearly on the insurance card it show $0 medical copay. My wife cancelled the appointment. I tried calling to straighten the issue out even provided them with my employers name, phone number and contact person so they could verify the insurance and coverage. Nobody returned my call so I again faxed them spelling out the situation. More then a week went by and we never heard from them. My wife found another doctor to go to. After she had done this I received a call from Dr. Evan's office saying they wanted to talk to me to straighten out the situation. A little to late for that..... Seems to me they must deal with alot of insurances and should know how they work...... Truely unprofessional practice.

Happy Dr Evans has more office hours in Blue Back Sq again. Despite the busy holidays, I was able to do my end of year physical, get labs done and get my mammogram in one place and one day. Plus they validate 1 hr in the covered parking garage too.

I found the office staff to be incompitent and very rude,especially the office manager. Prescriptions were either called in wrong or not at all.Dr. Evans even let me run out of a medication that I take daily simply because I was overdue for my annual physical. Needless to say, I have switched doctors.

Dr. Evans was very helpful and knowledgeable. She immediately recognized an ongoing issue I've been having when other doctors never paid attention to my concerns. However, I would not go back to her until she gets better staff. I had to get a series of tests to figure out what was causing the issues, plus renew a necessary prescription. The tests were done in a few days, but I couldn't get them. Despite giving the staff my phone number several times, they still somehow wrote it down wrong. I called multiple times but the phone always went straight to voice mail, no matter which extension I used. I left messages with my phone number and never got a call back. A week later, they called my husband at work and told him that I was "fine" and to call them back. I called them back but again kept getting voice mail. After 3 weeks of this I finally got them to mail me a copy of the results, which showed I was NOT fine at all. They also didn't even refill my scrip. Looking for a new doc now.
