"I am writing to formally report a significant medical incident that occurred during a Cryotherapy treatment. During the procedure, Nurse Practitioner Libby applied Cryotherapy beyond the intended designated treatment area’s resulting in substantial second burns to my inner thighs and legs. The solution ran down my legs and burned my skin; and also areas of my skin was sprayed with solution in areas where there were no skin tags. These burns caused Enormous pain and discomfort. It was excruciating to stand, walk or sit, or lie down and try to sleep. This incident appears to have been preventable. I was sitting on the exam table with only the protective paper. The absence of appropriate protective measures, such as towels or absorbent materials to prevent Cryotherapy runoff/drip contributed to this medical error. I told the Nurse Practitioner that the solution was running down my right leg and she said nothing nor offered anything to blot or dry the affected area’s. This lack of… precaution represents a serious deficiency in her established safety protocols and patient care procedures. I have pictures detailing the over sprayed area’s with drip, causing the second degree burns that show precisely what I am describing; but there is no option for uploading on this site.
