Dr. Elizabeth Hope Holt, MD

Dr. Holt has been my endocrinologist for a number of years. I commute close to an hour each way to see her for several reasons. She is extremely thorough and genuinely cares about patient education. She listens to my concerns and goes above and beyond answering my questions. I trust her in my healthcare management due to her absolute attention to details. I switched endocrinologists due to the lack of follow-up and continuity of care from the previous one. It was like I was starting all over from scratch at each annual follow-up and I felt like I was a number in line. That is not the case with Dr. Holt. You do have to be patient with the volume of patients this practice handles, but trust me, she is worth her weight in gold!

I went to doctor Holtz for years. She was always so kind and professional. I was so upset when I heard the news that she was moving locations.

Very pleased with Dr Holt I was surprised at the amount of time that she spent with me. I felt very comfortable with her and could tell that she was really interested in me not only as a patient but as a person. I was also made feel at ease. Her nurse was also very caring and made me feel wanted.

They are very nice Knowledgeable of diabetes

Dr. Holt is my 2nd attempt at an endocrinologist in Raleigh. I previously was a patient of a colleague in the same practice who I left after two appointments. Dr. Holt was referred by my family physician and the referral was the best thing that could happen to me since I was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes. First, the regular questions. Wait time in the office is negligible. The longest I've ever waiting in the waiting room is 10 minutes. Her nurse is always in a good mood and attentive during our pre-visit workup. I have, however, waited in the exam room for up to 30 mins at times once the nurse left and I was to wait for the doctor to arrive. Seemingly a problem, but once the visit with Dr. Holt starts, you understand how she might get behind (and I always take the last available appointment spot which could be compounding that particular problem). Dr. Holt is quite attentive reviewing the plans and goals we set up in previous appointments, asking questions and giving feedback to all… of my concerns. She will literally spend as much time with you as you need. I've been a patient for 4+ years and never once felt rushed out of my appointment in favor of another patient or to end her day. She's quite educated in the treatment of diabetes and can speak to anything I bring to the table (usually from internet research and television specials with the next best way to treat the disease). The only way I'll stop seeing her is if one of us moves 2+ hours away or she quits practicing, which I hope isn't for quite a while.The overall appearance of the new clinic is great. Lab work takes minutes to complete and is located right at their site. The staff is always warm and welcoming. Overall, this practice (provided you have the right physician) is very well run.
