Dr. Elizabeth Anne Joy, MD

Difficult to schedule an appointment, in fact office staff would not allow parent to even schedule an appointment for a dependent that is over the age of 18. Lab tests completed one month ago and the results have not yet been communicated to the patient. Disappointed with the quality and coordination of care.

I really liked Dr. Joy. She was pleasant to talk to and very knowledgeable and thorough. I left believing I chose the best doctor.

People keep saying how great Dr. Joy is... And I don't understand what's so great about a doctor who: 1) it's impossible to get in as a new patient, 2) once you get in, you have to wait 3-4 months for your first appointment and 3) once you get a appointment, she cancels them without proper prior notice. She doesn't care about how mild or severe a patients condition may be.., she still cancels the appointments even if the patient has bee waiting 7 weeks for that appointment. She has no respect or consideration for her patients. Again, I am trying to figure out what's so great about her?

I have been a little phobic of medicine. I had some bad experience with doctors who didn't care if they hurt you during exams and one who misdiagnosed a serious problem. Dr. Joy got me past all that. She is equally caring and competent -- a nice combination. She doesn't condescend to me, but explains things in detail realizing I can understand. She has been spot on again and again. She explains her decisions to me and takes my experience of my own body seriously.
