Dr. Elizabeth R Karazim-Horchos, DO

I have been a patient of Dr. Horchos since 2007. In the early years, the care was personable and comprehensive, giving me confidence in managing my long-term chronic pain. However, as this facility has significantly expanded, the quality of care has noticeably declined. The office now operates with a high-volume approach where I feel like just a number on a chart rather than a person. My recent visits have felt rushed, and I have discovered significant inaccuracies in my medical records. For example, my weight has been 'cloned' from old entries (recorded at 130 lbs despite being 99 lbs), and critical symptoms I’ve reported, such as loss of hand function, are being omitted or incorrectly documents as 'patient denies.' The current practice seems to prioritize frequent, brief appointments and internal referrals over addressing the patient's actual physical progression. For long-term patients with complex needs, the personable care that once existed here has been replaced by a… standardized, impersonal system.

I rate this provider 1 star! She mistakenly gave me the wrong drug test and said I was a Meth addict! She then issued the proper test at my urging and no Meth was determined! She looks like someone who had clubbed all night and came to wot park with the same outfit on! Messy! And her attitude is skewed toward not giving out any pain meds no matter how responsible a person is. Also she tried to mess with my mental health by trying to introduce a new anxiety drug while I have a mental health script already! I think they gave out pills like candy and now are being monitored so they really worry about keeping their percentage of prescribed narcotics low and not really addressing the patient’s individual needs! Bad news!

After hearing RAVE reviews about Dr. Horchos, I was very disappointed. I felt she was out of touch (Ex : suggesting expensive homeopathic treatments that my insurance didn't cover and I told her I couldn't afford). Her bedside manner was excellent - it seems everything about her was excellent EXCEPT for treating my pain! Maybe it was because it was our first (and last) visit. I was basically offered a band-aid for something that required something much, much more tailored for my injury and pain. If you're not in that much pain, you wouldn't be going to a pain management doctor. Different strokes for different folks. It seems she has helped many others. Take a chance if you want.

This doctor is amazing. I have been going to Dr Horchos for many years with problems of neck and shoulders. She has tried about everything to help ease the pain. When she cant do anymore she refers you to the people she thinks might help. Always very kind sociable and is never in a rush to hurry you out/. Would recommend her to anyone in pain.

Dr Horchos is amazing, her staff is great. They are all understanding and caring. They have never made me feel that I was not worth their time and they had other patients waiting. I would recommend her office to anyone with pain.
