Dr. Elizabeth Wentz Loder, MD

Dr. Loder helped solve my migraine problems when nobody else could. She is kind, patient, and truly listens to me as the patient. She involves me in decisions about my care by providing options with scientific information and anecdotal information regarding her own patients but never pushes any direction or indicates her personal preference over that of the patient. She stays up to date in the field and is the person other doctors I've seen or spoken with go to for assistance. I cannot say enough good things about her as a doctor. She also is incredibly kind, has a great memory, and appears to really care. She's available when needed, though it can be tough sometimes to book appointments (only one afternoon of appointments a week) - but she'll respond to important inquiries. Unfortunately, as amazing as Dr. Loder is, her office staff are that awful. They are rude, unhelpful, loud, and obnoxious - especially given that it is a neurology office! They complain about their own… problems and fully ignore patients. They have moved appointments multiple times without telling me and then tell me I'm wrong when I have the card they gave me with the appointment on it. They are lazy and will sometimes just decide not to do their jobs, answer phones, etc. I've seen this happen with other patients as well. I've never before been in an office where they tell you to call to make your next appointment because they just don't feel like booking one now (not during a busy time, either). I wish the hospital would improve the staff, because they take away from the positives of seeing Dr. Loder. However, Dr. Loder is phenomenal and has helped me function, so I deal with her staff by minimizing contact as much as possible.

Elizabeth Loder was a great listener and was careful to go through all my treatment options with me. She let me choose the route that seemed best for me with no pressure to take medication I did not feel comfortable with. However, the office was extremely rude and unhelpful. When I called to schedule my appointment, they told me they accepted my insurance, which it turns out after having my appointment, they do not, and I was landed with an outrageous bill. They also lost my referral from my PCP and didn't tell me that it hadn't been processed until the day of my appointment after I followed up multiple times. The staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. When I had a simple question such as do I need to check out or inquiry as to where the nearest bathroom was, they acted as though my questions were a huge inconvenience.
