Dr. Elizabeth Lee Lyster, MD

I saw her many years ago. Was on natural thyroid and came to her with the complaint of sleep disturbance. She told me I had high reverse t3 and needed to take more t3. I did all she said, spent a ton of money, and I went from sleeping poorly to not sleeping at all on her treatment. But just to talk to her about how terrible I felt meant spending more and more for each phone consult. In the end, she took no responsibility for making me worse.

I have been working with Dr. Liz for 5 years...I feel great. She really understood my problem and really started me on the path to feeling great. I have moved to NYC and she has become my medical concierge Its amazing

At first this MD did appear to pay attention, but after spending over a thousand dollars with very spread out appointments where it was tough to monitor any progress, the drugs she gave me made me gain weight instead of lose it, which was my goal. I gained almost 20 pounds after she told me I had a thyroid program. Several specialists since told me I have no such problem, and the weight is tough to take off at my age! Very disappointing.

Dr. Lyster is fine on her own, but making an appointment is horrible. The office has booked me with the wrong doctor, mixed up my patient chart with another, and even lost appointments I made. I showed up for my appointment one time and they had no record of it so I had to wait over an hour to get in. The wait is always long. I would not recommend this doctor due to the inefficiency of the front office. It's a shame for the doctor, because she is fairly good and very nice...but dealing with the office staff isn't worth the headache.They have also billed my insurance company with the wrong coding, causing months of back and forth to clear the matter up.

The doctor is good. Office staff are unfriendly and not knowledgeable.

Dr. Lyster is one the most caring OB/GYN's I've seen. She is warm and never rushed me. I felt that all of my questions were answered. She is very knowledgeable in bio-identical hormone therapy, as well. Her office staff is as wonderful as she. I am referring her to EVERYONE I can.
