I drove almost 300 miles for my appointment with Dr. McVeigh and it was worth every mile! My appointment was at 3pm to discuss the GAPS (Gut And Phycology Syndrome) Diet. For over 30 years I've struggled with chronic constipation, painful bloating of my abdomen, arthritis in my fingers, periods of depression (for over 5 years I battled suicidal thoughts), an addiction to sugar and chocolate, yeast overgrowth otherwise referred to as Candida albicans, stuggles with my weight, and other physical and psychological issues. Dr. McVeigh listened with a genuine interest as I shared my health history and my desire to improve the quality of my life and all the different eating regimens I had tried; what worked and what didn't. Dr.McVeigh then shared with me her journey in the field of medicine and how she came to truly helping patients through diet and nutition. It was a most enlightening visit. She had patiently listened to my woes, and passionately shared her insight and nutritional… information from her professional as well as personal experiences. We had visited for more than 2 hours and I left her office with renewed hope that I can feel better, receive a good measure of healing in my mind and body and live a more active, rewarding and potentially longer life by appropriating the recommended changes to my eating habits and lifestyle. I also believed that I had met a new friend that was going to walk this journey to health and wholeness with me, guiding me along the way with her expertise! I am looking forward to my 2nd appointment this next week after Dr McVeigh reviews some lab and test results that were ordered.
