Dr. Elizabeth Kaitlyn Mize, MD

It's taken me several years to be able to write a review of this woman. Of all three of my children, she made my last and final experience the absolute worst. She's was short in her tone and incredibly arrogant. I avoided seeing her in the office unless absolutely necessary. She was unfortunately on call when I arrived at the hospital for delivery. She walked in literally snapping her fingers at me and saying let's go, let's get this baby out. Again, this was my third baby, and both of the others had been without complications. I said actually I think I came in too soon and I want to go home because I'm trying to avoid an epidural. I wanted to go home, rest and see my other children, and then come back when the contractions were closer together. She proceeded to argue and said (this is a direct quote that I will absolutely never forget). "I don't know why you care more about resting than delivering a live baby." There was no indication that ANYTHING was wrong with my baby. I was fine.… He was fine. Long story short, Dr. Hunt came in after she was told to leave. He looked at the fetal monitor and said there was no reason that I couldn't leave. He gave me a mild pain med to take the edge off the contractions (which she refused to do), and gave me instructions on what he wanted me to do if the baby wasn't born by the following morning. I wish I were exaggerating or adding things that weren't true, but she essentially accused me of not caring whether my baby died. And yes, we did report it to the hospital. If I would have had the exchange on video or audio, I would have likely pursued it further. Maybe she's changed in the last few years, but please be aware before you choose her.

I was recommended to Dr. Mize by a friend. I was looking for gyn because i just moved to Mississippi. I have been to 5 appointments with Dr. Mize, each was such a bad experience I dreaded to go every appointment but felt obligated because I was having some health concerns. I finally switched to another doctor because it was too much mental stress on me. I wish I was exaggerating that statement, but I went home in tears for at least 3 appointments. She scared me with the information she was giving me more than making me feel comforted that there are options out there to help me. This is the first time I have ever experienced a Dr. that made me feel insignificant as a patient. She spoke to me without any concern of how she was relaying test results and solutions to me. At one appt. which she scheduled for me, I waited an hour and a 1/2 for her to talk to me for 5 minutes. She did not even apologize for having me wait that long. My most recent encounter which was my last was the nurse… telling me if Dr. Mize preformed this surgery on me would most likely result in a hysterectomy. This was never ever a topic of discussion and for a nurse to tell me this over the phone was appalling, yet when I asked about blood work I had to come in the office to discuss the results. That was the last straw and humiliating. I eventually got the feeling that she was trying to pawn me off to another office because I was not pregnant and unimportant to her. I do believe she favors patients that are pregnant, and it seems to show from the other reviews I see posted on this page. I would not recommend her and am sorry I ever took the recommendation to see her. Every experience that I have had with Dr. Mize has been so negative and stressful. Please proceed with caution.

My daughter is a student at Ole Miss. She was referred by an Urgent Care clinic. Dr. Mize was not at all helpful to her. She came in quickly, seemed to be in a hurry, put her on birth control pills and said that should fix her problems. Needless to say, she will not be going back.

Dr. Mize delivered my 3rd and final baby via c-section. Because it was my third, there was a possibility that I would have to have a vertical incision for safety reasons. I pleaded with Dr. Mize to do her best so I could stay with the bikini cut and she delivered! The delivery was top of the line with the latest in technology and medicine. I am very pleased. She has always been so sweet and was a huge advocate for me and my breastfeeding. Her sister was one of the nurse techs while I was in the hospital, too! I highly recommend her.

She's talked down to me every time I've been there and treats me as if I'm stupid. The funny thing is, though, I have a Master's degree. Seems too young and self important to listen and help. The last time I visited, she just burst in the door asking why I thought I had a condition that I had discussed with the nurse. Well, perhaps it was because my previous doctor had run tests which proved I have the condition. She insisted that I didn't have the condition. There wasn't any kind of greeting just rudeness. Maybe Dr. Mize should learn basic manners such as, "Hi, how are you doing today?"

We LOVE Dr. Mize! She delivered our first baby and was everything and more through the whole process. After meeting with her I wanted to go out for coffee and shopping with her. She made us feel so comfortable and was so helpful in every area. Definitely recommend her to all of my friends.

Poor experience and is not helpful!

Very easy to talk to, very knowledgeable. Will recommend her to everyone.
