Dr. Elizabeth Anne Mullans, MD

I have been a patient with Dr. Mullans for nearly a decade and have had pleasant experiences with both her and her nurse, Yvette. But Allison is wretched! Per usual practices I received a reminder call for an follow-up appointment. I returned the call to inform her that I couldn't make the appointment and she rescheduled. I was in route to a meeting when the call was made therefore unable to put in on my calendar, but figured I'd receive a call a day or two prior to remind me of the appointment. I never received a call and figured it was never scheduled. Months later I received a call from collections stating I had a past due No Show Fee for Uptown Dermatology. This was the first I've heard of the fee as I never received an email or call regarding the matter, yet I receive regular email newsletters from this practice so my info is clearly on file. I email Dr. Mullans for Allison to then reply and tell me that she was on vacation and therefore the reminder call wasn't placed and… that it is my job to remember my appointments. You'd think after nearly ten years of patronage, various referrals, never missing an appointment, and being understanding when Dr. Mullan's had an emergency and I've shown up to be told I need to reschedule and two occasions that the same courtesy would be given for a first time offense, especially given the fact that they have record that the "courtesy" call wasn't placed. And for ALL of these decisions to be made affecting Dr. Mullans practice by Allison and her Accountant is absurd. Especially when they don't have the acumen to assess situations before applying fees and sending items to collections. If I had done this before, I'd pay the fee. If I had received the call/voicemail and didn't show, I'd pay the fee. But to be penalized, and sent to collections no less, for being unable to put in my calendar for the first time in nearly 10 years is ASININE!

I have been to over 30 doctors dealing with the same condition. Dr. Mullans is the only one that did not treat me like a freak. She gave me samples, and even let me call her if I had feedback on what worked best for me. She is priceless!!
