Dr. Elizabeth T Torres, MD

Don't waste your time or money with Dr Torres. She doesn't listen to the needs of the patient. If you are stressed her best advice is to sing. I believe she is the worst Dr I have ever been to. She is argumentative and discounts and downplays you symptoms. My mom and i have been seeing her for quite some time. Convenience is the only reason we kept going back. Her appointments are less than 2 minutes. She rushes her patience and then doubts them openly and makes them feel as if they are in the wrong. With the amount of good Doctors out there, please, for your and your family's sake seek care elsewhere. I am frankly surprised that she still has a practice. She insisted that because my mother had something, I would have it. I am adopted and explained that to her and it still went above her head. She continued to argue that geneticists would still play a role. I went in for a medication refill and she questioned the need for the very medication that she prescribed. I will be leaving this… review or one similar on every platform that allows. Find another physician. If I could give negative stars I would.

Yesterday I went to my appointment and I explained to the receptionist to please have a little patience, because my English is bad. I thought she spoke Spanish, because she clearly looked Latin. She spoke very loud and energetic to me, saying, “No one here speaks Spanish!” She was chatting very enthusiastically with the "nurse" (in clear English). She rudely asked me to enter the examination room and she behaved tensely. I was trying my best to explain my symptoms to the nurse in English when finally Dr. Torres arrived ???? BUT, it was more unpleasant! That's when I understood the atmosphere in that office… The doctor seemed to doubt my symptoms and made me feel ridiculous. It was at this point I wanted to go home. I put up with her just out of politeness. Then the nurse returned to deliver my order and seeing that I didn't understand quickly, she looks at me and said “I really speak a little Spanish” ?? Ridiculous!… Ok, at that point I just wanted to get out of there. I… finally went through reception to turn in my “new patient” registration and tried to explain something to the secretary. She approaches me and told me: “You know, I really do speak a little Spanish”… And she begins to explain EVERYTHING perfectly to me! ??although clearly with a ridiculous native accent… I just couldn't believe my ordeal anymore. I felt discriminated against and by two women who seemed more Latin than me! The doctor is a person without patience who hardly allows you to speak. I will never go back to that place again. I took the time to write it down, because it just affected my mood yesterday. It's the first time people behave like that since I've been here. My recommendation: Find another doctor!
