Dr. Elizabeth Catherine Vonfelten, MD

Vonfelten's lack of concern lead to my mother's misdiagnoses and death. Vonfelten misdiagnosed my mother with fibromyalgia for years. my mother was a nurse at the practice Vonfelten worked at. My mother complained to Vonfelten as the symptoms and pain was becoming unbearable but Vonfelten did HIV and Hepatitis blood work. My mother complained the Vonfelten would not schedule in office visits rather she would talk with my mother during work hours in the hallway about my mothers health issues. mother changed doctors and was immediately diagnosed with cancer. like the next day. Vonfelten. at visits Vonfelten would often ramble on about her family and trips rather than listen to patients. I personally over her going on and on about her daughter to an elderly patient that was concerned about a rash on her knee that was growing. Vonfelten told her to outline the rash and if it grow outside the lines then schedule another visit then Vonfelten continued talking about about herself. the patient… told her it had grown but Vonfelten was not concerned with her needs, Vonfelten just need to gloat about her family. The doctor I was seeing overheard this also and went into the room and looked at the rash herself.

A pill pusher. Doesn’t read the chart. Finally fired her.

Would never recommend her. Silly attitude. Loves to prescribe medication. Doesn't listen. Makes no effort to familiarize herself with patient's prior medical history. Doesn't follow up with patient. Does not engender confidence in her abilities. Inefficient office set-up (no human ever answers the phone--endless round of recorded messages, etc).
