Dr. Elizabeth L Wiest, DO

Dr. Weist was my doctor in the Chambersburg ER. I was made to sit in the hallway for 8 hours without seeing the doctor before any real testing was done. I was told for hours on end that “the doctor would be over any second”. I was 5 weeks pregnant, so an ultrasound was done. After reviewing said ultrasound Dr. Weist felt it was appropriate to tell me in the hallway in front of staff as well as other patients that I had a tubal pregnancy and would have to have my baby surgically removed immediately. My husband and I were horrified and devastated. They began prepping me for surgery immediately without having the OBGYN check the ultrasound first. I had no pain or bleeding. No symptoms of a tubal pregnancy whatsoever, and yet she was ready to cut open. Once the OB finally arrived and went over my results, he said there was no tubal pregnancy and everything looked healthy, and that he had all the other doctors on staff look at my results and they agreed with him. Dr. Weist was callous and… her bedside manner was appalling. I have been traumatized throughout the rest of my pregnancy due to her actions. I am plagued with constant nightmares of pregnancy complications. She should be ashamed of herself for treating patients in such a manner and being so uncaring. I will never go back to Chambersburg hospital.
