Dr. Ellen M Burkett, MD

I tried for 7 months to get her to understand my chronic issues. She never read one record to try to get to know me. She doesn't address your concern, easily dismisses you, makes you feel ashamed after you tell her how you feel, treats you like your stupid, and says untrue stuff about you on your patient portal. I was recently transported to the ER from a surgery ctr. and she yelled at me, saying I should come see her first. Every time I go to the ER is because a provider sent me, had me transported, her own office had me transported from their office and she yelled at me for it. She posts on my portal " patient doesn't grasp when she shouldn't go to the ER". Not once did she look into why I went. One time I had an NJ feeding tube fall out, I was told to go to the ER because I only had a few hours to get it put back in. She never read the notes. Apparently she doesn't grasp that I'm being told to go. Apparently she doesn't grasp that she needs to read records before yelling at you.

My husband and I are both patients of Dr Burkett. We find her very knowledgeable and kind. She has always spent as much time with us as we needed. It is true that there are many nurse practitioners in her office, and we each see one that we consider our PCP. However, Dr Burkett is consulted and advises on our care. Any time we have preferred to see Dr Burkett, we have been able to make an appointment with her. Office staff is exceptional.

My husband and I both have Dr Burkett as our primary care doctor. Her office is the most efficiently run practices that we have encountered. We feel very fortunate to be in this practice.

Dr Berkett is the worst doctor I have ever seen. I read bad reviews about her but took a chance. I should have paid attention to the reviews! Horrible, rude, inpatient, curt, etc. She didn't listen to me and prescribed me the wrong medicine. She left the room 4 times during the appt and ended by saying I took up too much time and then she walked out! I have numerous examples of her rude behavior. I believe she has some severe issues and should not be in a field that involves people. Absolutely horrible, horrible, horrible!

I have been going to Dr. Burkett for almost 20 years. She is an excellent doctor. I have complete faith in her abilities and her care.

Dr. Burkett was very attentive to my care when I had an acute disease.

I used to be a patient at Dr. Burkett's office. At one point, I had to change doctors as my insurance had changed. When my insurance changed again and I had an opportunity to go back so I decided to give them a call to schedule an appointment. When I called I could not believe the poor attitude of the receptionist. She was of no help and, in my opinion, extremely rude and unhelpful. Due to her unwillingness to help me I figured I would not waste my time going back. "According to their records I was not a patient" - Funny, I wonder where all those co-pays went and why I remember so many visits and discussions, etc. I guess I was just dreaming all of this and my bank statements were lying to me...UGH! I loved the PA at Dr. Burkett's office, however, if I have to deal with the receptionist every time I schedule an appointment or pay the co-pay I'd rather go somewhere else.

I am somewhat ambivalent about Dr. Burkett. I think she is competent. I find appointments easy to make as long as they are during office hours. My only complaint is that there seems to be a lot of bueracratic problems. Perscription refills are not quite correct so I have to become personally involved. Insurance forms not quite filled out so I have to make several phone calls, etc. The office attitude is: "well, we tried. If you really want insurance coverage you need to call your insurance company...." Now, is this because of the staff or is it simply that insurance companies are harder to deal with? If it is the latter than perhaps I am being unfair.

I have been her patient for 20 years with hypertension and other conditions as I have gotten older. When I went several years without insurance she made sure to find ways to get me the meds I needed. Diagnosed with Fibro 12 years ago, just diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Willing to discuss alternate preseciptions.

I believe she is very homophobic and has the worst bedside manor.She's insensitive, short and I would never see her again, even if she was the last doctor on earth. I would rather die.
