Dr. Ellen Mccrary, OD

I am a Bakersfield senior with multiple, vision risk factors, including diabetes 2; history of personal retinal detachment; family history of glaucoma; and more. I visited Dr. McCrary for a comprehensive examination. The offices were the cleanest I have seen in our city. "I could eat off the bathroom floor" [not recommended!]. Staff was constantly circulated, sanitizing and prepping every aspect of the facility and equipment. "Wait time" was under ten minutes. Dr. McCrary, herself was a delightful little woman, whose youth is compensated with calm competency and good cheer. She paid particularly attention to every aspect of my vision--taking more than usual time to assure she could evaluate every potential disease or future source of degeneration--I felt I was in expert hands. She reviewed her findings with me, and gave me calm but detailed counsel about possible problem signs. She also gave me detailed recommendations about lenses, coatings, transition treatments, and more. … Those suggestions were skillfully translated into new glasses and frames by Optician Michael Hagglund, another expert staff member. I sincerely appreciate the excellent service I received from Dr. McCrary and her co-workers.
