She doesn't take insurance, charges a very high rate, and even thinks you should pay her for her "research" when you aren't there. This quickly adds up to thousands and thousands of dollars that you "owe" her, and she demands you pay up before you get the benefit of any of her "research" into your condition. If you don't pay the ridiculous charges, she will go to the ends of the earth to ruin your credit. It's extortion, really.

Dr Rotblatt was instantly caring, compassionate, and involved me in the treatment at my first appointment.She is thorough and knows that the body and mind work together, thus questions why I am taking meds from primary care and what causes the symptoms, i.e. am I having the cause treated or just the symptom.She is now suggesting a gradual phase out of my depression meds, which is scary, but I have her as my support if that doesn't work, so I'll give it a try.She is not shrinky, unapproachable and secret like I had come to expect of Psychiatrists. She has no magic wands, just consistent capable care.

Dr. Rotblatt does not take insurance and does a lot of unorthodox testing, like checking for common vitamin deficiencies, routine lab work, and very expensive DNA testing, which are all very expensive. If that sounds OK to you, then after about five appointments when she is still having you come in for three hour sessions ($150 an hour) and then flatly refuses to give you any insight into what all the testing means specifically to you, and she tells you that you haven't paid enough yet to be privy to the information in her head, well, then you might feel differently. I suppose if you have an endless supply of money, time, and patience and want to indulge yourself, who knows, maybe there is an endpoint at which you might learn something useful. I didn't.Oh, and then of course it was all my fault.Just say no.
