I was born in Seoul, Korea, and grew up in the New York suburbs. I moved to the Northwest to complete a residency program at the Portland/Vancouver Veterans Medical Center. I am married, and we have two daughters. My love of science and helping people put me on the path to a career in health care. I have been wearing glasses since I was eight, and visited my eye doctor frequently. It_s so rewarding to help people see. I have participated in multiple volunteer missions abroad with the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity group, which provides free eye exams and glasses to those in need.
