I am deeply dissatisfied with my experience at this practice due to systemic scheduling failures, lack of transparency, inconsistent clinical communication, and prolonged failure to provide appropriate offloading during an active bone injury. Despite calling twice to confirm an appointment with a female physician, I was not informed that this was a residency-based practice or that a different male physician would conduct the visit until I was already in the exam room. This lack of disclosure undermined informed consent from the start. Imaging coordination was poorly handled. MRI orders were withdrawn without notification due to inadequate documentation, and I only learned of this by contacting my insurance myself. Although the physician described the MRIs as urgent, orders defaulted to "routine," preventing timely scheduling or STAT interpretation. I spent hours coordinating with insurance and utilization management to prevent further delay-burden that should not fall on an injured… patient. Before the official MRI report was available, I was told my knee "looked great." After the finalized report documented patellofemoral cartilage loss, osteoarthritis, and a degenerative medial meniscal tear, those findings were then minimized and described as "overcalled." I was told the physician had reviewed the imaging with two other sports medicine doctors, and that all three disagreed with the radiologist--despite ongoing symptoms and without any formal radiology addendum or reinterpretation. Equally concerning was the prolonged failure to provide appropriate offloading. I reported within days that the prescribed tall boot caused nerve compression and worsening symptoms, yet nearly three weeks passed without an effective alternative. During follow-up, the physician repeatedly referenced wheelchairs and motorized scooters and appeared unaware of what DME had actually been prescribed, even asking whether I had "left with crutches," which I had not. This was particularly troubling given that the central issue throughout care was that the boot itself was not tolerable and had been repeatedly reported as such. Despite confirmed tibial bone injury and significant knee pathology, no meaningful pain-management plan or coordinated follow-up occurred. A scheduled follow-up visit ultimately functioned as an unannounced termination of care with a recommendation for a second opinion, without resolution of ongoing treatment needs. This was not a disagreement over medical judgment. It was a pattern of non-disclosure, failure to translate urgency into action, inconsistent communication, delayed offloading, and confusion about prescribed care. I would not recommend this practice to patients who expect transparency, coordinated care, and timely management of active injuries

Honestly, she just shows very little compassion or care for her job. Word of advice to her: don't EVER give a deep sigh of annoyance and say to your patient that "I have a really busy schedule today" when your patient is trying to tell you about another problem they are encountering--ESPECIALLY after they just told you they have anxiety. Then you leave the room, come back, and rush through the exam. It's extremely rude and insensitive. I was so shocked, but I wish I would have said something to her in the moment. It's your job to listen to patients and their symptoms and not rush off, AND I am part of your busy schedule. She also kept saying she never met with me before, although it was a follow up appointment to my annual visit. Some people just want to be a doctor, to say they're a doctor. I refuse to meet with her again. I cried afterward

Never in my life have I ever written a review for a physician. As someone getting my Masters in medicine, I understand very well the stress and pressure that they are under and I don’t usually take offense easily (then again, I’d never had an offensive experience up until that point). But I felt extremely compelled to write this review. I went to Dr. Khan to check up on a possible health issue I was worried about. Talking about it made me emotional and I teared up a bit, only for her to look at me with obvious discomfort and annoyance, which made me feel extremely self-conscious about opening up. When asking her questions, she would respond in a condescending tone as if the answer should be obvious and that I was stupid for not knowing. When I mentioned taking a supplement to help me with my anxiety and focus issues, she told me not to. I had asked her why, explaining that I felt that the pressure of my graduate program made me feel as if I had no other options to keep myself in one… piece. She responded with something along the lines of “I’m not sure if the supplements are bad to be honest, but if you want to continue, go ahead. It’s pretty much out of my hands what you do.” It just felt so callous and cruel for her to give me that order and not even follow up with possible alternatives. She had also wanted to do a lab test and never followed up with me on the results. The next time I came back I had to repeat everything (including the test), but I refused to see her ever again. The other resident I saw was a COMPLETE 180 experience. She was so patient, kind, empathetic, and assured me that there was nothing for me to be ashamed of. She thoroughly took a closer look at my original issue and found out that everything was fine! But she didn’t just stop there. Picking up on my emotions and anxiety, she referred me to a free therapist that I began seeing. Through both of them, it was found out that I was suffering from clinical depression...something that Dr. Khan just saw as me being obnoxious. I was extremely curious about what school Dr. Khan attended since Rutgers usually does an amazing job of producing compassionate healthcare workers, and was not at all surprised to find out the Dr. Khan attended school at Ross in the Caribbean. I’m not saying all Caribbean med graduates have her personality but maybe it played a huge role in developing her personality as a provider.
