After undergraduate training in Biology at Boston University, Elliott H. Leitman continued at BU and received his medical degree in 1992. Following a surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, through 1997, Dr. Leitman completed a fellowship in orthopaedics sports medicine and knee reconstruction at Graduate Hospital, also in Philadelphia.
Dr. Leitman has held certification from the National Board of Medical Examiners since 1993 and from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons since 2002, and holds medical licensure in both Delaware and Pennsylvania. Dr. Leitman is currently affiliated with Christiana Hospital, where he also serves as director …of Orthopaedic Education; with St. Francis Hospital; and with the Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children. His past appointments included Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the DeWitt Army Hospital, both while in the U.S. Army Reserves. He has also served numerous team-physician appointments, including seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and Flyers, and with the Wilmington Blue Rocks.
