Dr. Ellis Main, DO

They like to load you up on frequent visits every 2-3 months to squeeze more $$ out of you to buy themselves another Mercedes. & when you tell them you don’t need anything they hold your Meds hostage to force you to make an appointment. Wait an hour or 2 to be seen for 10 mins. They rush you thru like cattle & staff is rude & very unprofessional. Doc’s wife is a B & runs the place like a drill Sergeant. She always has everyone on edge. Also, good luck if you need a prescription called/faxed in because they won’t respond. I usually have to call back 2-3 times to get them to do their job. Worthless. Do yourself a favor & steer clear of this God awful place!

Dr Main is a horrible doctor and has a horrible staff, don't trust this office with your health, Dr main doesn't care about your health, you're just another mortgage payment to him, the staff is rude and they act like they're above or more superior to you, do yourself a favor and don't see this doctor, pick anyone else. Definitely don't trust him with your loved ones. It appears that his wife puts too much pressure on him and it shows up in his work. Wouldn't trust this office with my dogs health much less mine or a loved one Anyone else

Dr can't be called in case of an emergency, his nurse Mary cause me the following day and strolled me like a child. I was told never to call the doctor at night. Doctor was sick when he examined me and got me sick. He had an upper respiratory infection. Didn't wash is hands or wear gloves. I wouldn't recommend him for a primary care physician. He should not be listed for practice or have or be in practice.

Tex, the patients writing these Negative reviews are NOT making it up! I lived it, too! Ended up in the hospital because of their incompetence. We put our lives in these people's hands and they don't give a...! Mary is the worst! She said, "I know how you feel " So why ARE you here for??? Had no idea why I was there! SueANN NEVER returns a call! I even ended up in the hospital & to try to get in for a hospital follow up I had to wait 2 weeks! When i showed up i was 2 hrs early & even after i showed the receptionist the msg i was left with the time, no opology I'm told to stop taking a medication& which causes me allergic reactions and when the other nurse calls she assumes I haven't taken it at all. They assume b4 asking a question! When they do manage to return a call after a week or after being pestered, they don't look at the charts b4 calling the patient so they "have to double check & call you back", which never happens. The worse thing is no one apologizes, they use each other as… an excuse, they pass the buck. "Oh, she didn't call you" That's the kind of people they are, do you want to put your life/health in their hands? People who could care less!??. Those who write saying they're good people, plz do not be misleading! These are people's lives it's hard enough as it is trying to find a good dr! Be truthful or don't say anything. If I could I'd give a negative -*. Forced to give one. But it's actually a lot lower.

Dr. Main is very compassionate, knowledgable, and Honest. He cares about his patients and takes the time to listen, and answer any questions or concerns. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great family Doctor!

I have been seeing Dr. main for 10 years, He is a very busy dr. and it always surprises me that they can handle as many patients as they do. I have seen a lot od bad reviews on him, But for me he is a very good doctor and always has treated me professionally. with great results.

My daughter and I went into the doctors office for a sore throat and cough on a Tuesday. We were seen by the doctor and he wanted to do blood work and throat cultures on the both of us. We had a good experience with the doctor, but upon leaving the office we were told results would take 24 hours. Well I called in on Wednesday after lunch and was put on hold for over 10 minutes, then the nurse got on the phone and told me the doctor had not looked over my results yet and once he did they would get back to me. Wednesday passed and never heard anything, meanwhile daughter and I are still running fever, coughing, and not getting any better. Thursday morning I call the office yet again to get the same excuse. Thursday passed then came Friday with yet again no phone call so by this point I am fed up I call the doctors again and yet again the same excuse. I finally get a call back saying that they got the results, and have we been taking the antibiotics and cough medicine. We were never… perscribed any medications on the inital visit. So over all the doctor is a great doctor but his staff doesn't seem to be the brightest crayon in the box. Which is very unfortunate.

Not sure about the negative commenter's motives in writing such a piece. Reading it gives one insight into that person. Have had Dr. Main as my doctor for 16 years, and I have found it amazing how he and his staff handle such a volume of patients and work with such proficiency, knowledge, and professionalism. And, others who have him as their doctor have also commented how when you visit him, it is as though you are the only patient that day with the attention you receive. Dr. Main, Mary, Lisa, Susie--everyone-- are wonderful.

The staff was VERY rude, they billed my insurance wrong and the doctor is an idiot! I had the hardest time just trying to get an apointemnt, but I needed to find a doctor close by. The receptionist told me that I had to talk to the doctor to make an apointment, that her job was just to "file things" and she hung up on me and then wouldn't answer when I tried to call back. I complained about the receptionist the next day and I was just laughed at! The staff also billed my insurance wrong and I ended up with bad credit and having to pay $300 out of pocket for something that was supposed to be covered for free!!! The doctor was more concerned about the "ice rays" hockey team rather than my health. He dismissed everything I told him, never did any testing or even tried to help me at all. I had a major medical issue that went un-noticed and now (it's been a couple of years) my medical issue has worsened! It could've been stoped if Dr. Main would've done his job correctly. I now have to live… in pain. I had the opportunity to sue him b/c of his major medical mistake, but I choose to move away from Corpus to find a decent doctor with professional staff.
