Great Dr and staff. Highly recommended. Mr. Tijerina and Griselda Santillan Nurse Practitioners in this office are available and they are excellent also.

I agree with other reviewers. My mother goes to this doctor and has only spoken to Dr. Canales once for a whole 4 minutes. It is always the assistants (RN) that talk and see the patients (maybe they should get her salary). They always say she is not available. I understand that there are other patients and other stuff to attend to but WOW. Other doctors do it....they see their patients, they do it why can't she. They will cancel your appointment last minute or reschedule it last minute. Then you have to wait weeks for them to see you once they reschedule it. I'm sorry but the Doctor, in this case Dr. Canales should have more of a connection with her patients as it would be nice to be able to ask questions directly to her. What is she getting paid for then? I really don't understand. Why be a doctor if you are not going to make an effort to see your patients and give them the opportunity to ask you questions about their health, concerns they may have. Taking an extra 10-15 minutes to… see your patients that have scheduled appointments wouldn't be too bad Dr. Canales. You should try it sometime. Don't recommend her save yourself the trip. I've told my mother to start looking for a better doctor. Not that many to choose from in Laredo, Texas. She might have to go to San Antonio to get the care she really needs or someone better in Laredo, Texas.

Very disappointed. My mother would usually be seen only by the RN. RN not proficient in Spanish, which is a necessity here. Communication between patient and doctor is very bad due to incompetent staff. My mother spent time in the hospital under this doctor's care. The doctor would come in and see her for about three minutes and then leave. This doctor did NOTHING for my mother. Wait time: 3 hours for nothing.

after waiting 6 weeks for an appointment i went to my CONFIRMED, SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT only to be told that i wasnt important for the doctor to even show up. pathetic excuse for a professional -

The doctor herself is very good, competent, good bedside manner. Her staff is not nearly as good. Wait time was 3 hours with appt. No one answers phone. Calls returned 3-4 hours later with "sorry, didn't get your message". Then transferred to another extension to leave another message.
