Dr. Elton Robert Kerr, MD

I came to Dr Kerr after being with the same obgyn for 20 years because of retirement. I had been having issues that my previous Dr dismissed or understated. Dr Kerr immediately took action and investigated my issues further. He fixed years of pain and suffering within 2 months. His office has always gotten me an appointment right away for urgent issues

I’m never going back. I have a few different concerns, one being his lack of communication and the second being that it seems all he is interested in is having more and more appointments with more and more stuff done to collect more money. I had a potential miscarriage and explained what occurred and he said, “we’ll never know if it was a miscarriage or not” so I asked him what the odds were of it being anything else, given the situation if in his medical opinion it could have been a miscarriage or could have been anything else. He looked me directly in the eye, waited a moment, then ignored my questioned and moved on to what was next. He had me undress for an exam and when he came back in the room he told me he was going to check my heart rate, which he did but then started pushing on my breasts to check them too but he didn’t tell me he was going to do that or give any forewarning. He just went straight to my breasts without asking. Then he told me he was going to do a pap… smear, but instead he first did a pelvic exam and checked which way my uterus is facing and if it was enlarged at all (I’m pregnant) then after that he did the pap smear. He didn’t tell me he was going to do anything other than the pap smear and he should have at least said something before sticking his finger anywhere. Then he tells me I have to go to the lab to get bloodwork done to see if I am pregnant, which one of the screenings would have said whether or not I was pregnant, but the other thirteen screenings were for STDs, blood levels, and other information that he didn’t tell me he wanted or why he wanted them. I was supposed to just pay a whole bunch of money for fourteen different blood screenings when he only told me why he wanted one of them. Also, he wanted to do a transvaginal ultrasound and I told him I’d rather a transabdominal ultrasound, which he said they wouldn’t be able to give me a due date if I had that kind. This is my second child and I got a due date just fine using a transabdominal ultrasound for my first child (which I wouldn’t have been as far along at the time either). I’m thinking he just wanted more money from me because I’m betting a transvaginal is more expensive than a transabdominal. And he wanted me to come back in two weeks. Again, this isn’t my first child and I know full well that I shouldn’t be in for another appointment for another month. I’m not going back there. Then to top it off, as I had to wait for paperwork before I could leave, I saw ants in the exam room. The whole appointment had way more wait time than I wanted (more than I’ve had at previous doctors), but again the worst part was the lack of communication and I literally think he was just out to get more money.

I went in for an annual exam with this provider, upon arriving he was more interested in why i had some surgeries and told me that he wanted to switch me meds to a patch when i have been fine taking oral meds for years. He then did not do an annual exam on me that i had scheduled. So they wanted me to come back for yet another MD appt to do the exam apon my 2 appointment the nurse told me i was there for results only. I said no i am here for an annual exam that i scheduled the first time. This Dr is more interested in having multiple appointments to get his RVU's up. I will not recommend him nor will i be going back.

Dr Kerr and his staff are absolutely amazing. I moved half way through my pregnancy and was nervous about starting over but I am so happy that I did. Kerr works well under pressure, he reacts quickly to emergencies and makes me feel very confident in his abilities. His nursing staff remembers me and my family even if its been a year since I've needed anything. I am always so comfortable talking to them whether its about pregnancy, health concerns or personal chit chat. If you want people who are efficient and good and what they do this is the team to come to.

I went to Dr.Kerr for the birth of my child. I wanted someone with basically 2 qualifications: to have a healthy pregnancy and baby and I am forever greatful that it turned out so. One thing I felt most comfortable with is that he had the knowledge to handle any complications that may come with pregnancy and he promptly acted on it. He was a no chances kind of guy and would order more testing right away if needed. If you are looking for a close bond with your doctor (such as midwives often are), then he probably isn't your guy. However, if you value someone with the know-how to handle potentially dangerous situations, knowledge of older and most current practices, and will try his hardest to make it to your delivery, then he's your guy. There was a high nursing staff turnover while I was there, to get an appt., I needed to go straight to his nurse if I was concerned because the front office staff scheduled weeks out. I would use him again because I trust his expertise.

Dr Kerr is a great doctor. He listens to me and is willing to work WITH me.
