Horrible Dr. and totally unorganized and unprofessional. I’ve never had an appointment even close to being on time. I usually wait a minimum of an hour to see him. But that’s not even the worst part. The worst part is that it’s not only impossible to get in touch with anyone in their office either by phone or klara but you can’t get them to send refills on time. I’ve missed many days of work waiting for refills for meds I need just to function.

I'm surprised this practice is still running...legally! First of all he's always late to every appointment...not professional at all. i think he might need a neuropsychiatrist because theres this rumor going around for quite sometime, he hired his own patient. Is that even allowed by the board? This guy has no respect for my time, so why should i respect his time? He never has the same staff im starting to wonder why...its starting to seem fishy....either way someone should complain to the board about the possibility of this man hiring his own patient. Thats too personal...i stopped coming here thankfully there are better psychiatrists who arent shady and punctual but he is not worth it

Dr. Ruiz never discussed treatment, leaving me unsure of his goals for our sessions. He is almost impossible to reach. He was also supposed to coordinate medication with a therapist who couldn't reach him either, after spending weeks trying.

Marked lack of critical thinking diagnostically wise, lack of knowledge about medications both psychiatric and medical. Confused and irrational prescription writing , irrational medication indication ( all on file). Medical fraud including Medicare Medicaid insurances tricare and Humana.

Incompetent physician that continuously committed fraud over a period if 5 years will file a complaint of insurance fraud inc Medicare Medicaid and insurances in almost 400. O00 times which will put him in jail hopefully

Save your time and money! Receptionist is horrible and Dr. Ruiz is never on time. He’s been late on many occasions and simply cancels appointments without any notice. It’s impossible to get in contact with him. Simply the worst experience.

Iâ??m in the same field as Dr. Ruiz, and this man is an embarrassment to the profession. Extremely unethical and unprofessional. I saw him a few times and he put me on a number of â??newâ?? medications (and kept bragging about being involved in a lot of research studies). But once I was on the meds, he would not call in refills or return my messages (voice, emails, texts), even though he knew I had run out of meds a week prior. After several weeks of back and forth, he tried to blame the three different pharmacies I provided and promised me he would fix the problem asap. But he still didnâ??t call in the scripts. Finally, I tried to confirm an appointment with him, but he said he was leaving the office again. This was 3 hours before our appointment. He said he had â??an emergency,â?? but didnâ??t consider having left me without meds at all urgent or critical. I told him I couldnâ??t believe his behavior, but he refused to take responsibility or apologize. Never heard from him or his… office again, which in psych terms is called abandonment. Now I see similar issues in other reviews. This man is bad for your mental health. STAY AWAY!

Where do I begin? Well, I think the only logical place is the beginning, as that was the high point of my appointment with Doctor Elvin Ruiz. After checking in with the less than pleasant secretary, I began and promptly finished filling out the necessary bundles of paper, covering my medical history, insurance, etc. This relatively routine exercise took all of ~10 minutes, after which I returned the papers to the desk. Then I began waiting. And waiting. And finally, more waiting. If the office was abuzz with lots of patients and activity, the prolonged wait would seem reasonable. But I was the only patient in the entire office. As I sat and watched the minutes tick by and my time away from my own job accumulating, the only activity in the office was Dr. Ruiz yakking away on the phone discussing a patient's medical and treatment history with the listening party, all with his door wide open, seemingly oblivious to any HIPPA regulations or general professionalism. Needless to say,… I gathered quite a dossier on this patient, but as a matter of respect, I'll spare readers the details. Anyways, eventually I mustered the audacity to ask the secretary how much longer. After checking with the Doc himself, I was told just a few more minutes. After waiting 35, what's another handful? So finally, Dr. Ruiz emerges from his office and summons me in. Not with a welcoming smile or even a handshake; no, he waived me in like I was a bellhop and he was ready to be ushered to his room. Important piece of information to note here: he was still on the phone talking about another patient! So now I'm in his office and he points for me to take a seat like a kid in the principal's office. Then he spends a few more minutes wrapping up this all-important phone call divulging details about another patient while I'm sitting directly in front of him. And finally, more than forty minutes after the start of my scheduled appointment, he turns his focus to me. But at least he was so insightful and offered all sorts of sage wisdom and guidance to help me. Oh wait, that most certainly did not happen. After rambling on in hard-to-decipher English, he suggested I get some lab work done to help identify my symptoms and treatment options. I told him what labs my insurer covers and even had the CPT codes for him in advance to make the ordering of the tests that much more seamless. Well, you guessed it--it wasn't. Dr. Ruiz and his secretary had a heck of a time figuring out how to look up a certain CPT code and the name of the test it corresponds to. Google does this in about .000004 seconds, but that's neither here nor there. So, finally after determining that I was in fact right, he ordered the tests and told me I would have to schedule a follow-up in order to discuss my results, as the lab would not distribute the results directly to me. Surprisingly, he was wrong again. Thankfully, I can retrieve my results directly from the lab and take them to a qualified professional who doesn't treat his patients like yesterday's trash. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this buffoon.

Had a very good experience with Dr Ruiz. Unlike my previous doctor who was not attentive, Dr Ruiz was very attentive and caring. His staff was also very professional and really looked after me. I got the Depression Deep TMS treatment and it is truly remarkable.
