During my very stressful high risk pregnancy, Dr. Gaziano was warm and reassuring--I always felt better when I saw him. It meant so much to me to see a doctor I trusted during my pregnancy, and I am grateful every time I look at my healthy baby!

I was one of probably only a few women who were educated about common unnecessary interventions used during birth situations in America. Worn down and desperate after nearly 24 hours of labor, I consented to a Pitocin drip after I stupidly consented to an epidural simply because Dr. Gaziano was getting "c-section happy" on me despite my being very well educated about my specific complication surrounding my birth experience. I was afraid he would possibly lie about a reason behind needed to do a c-section so I consented to the epidural in case he found a "reason"; I didn't want to risk having to go under general anesthesia. During the pushing stage, I was told I had to have an episiotomy because my daughter's life was in danger and her heart rate was dropping. However, I found out several months after giving birth that there is no record of my receiving Pitocin at all, no record of when it was administered or how much I received or for how long...it's like I never received it. I… also found out after looking at my daughter's medical records that she was never in any distress and that the episiotomy was done "to prevent tearing", not because her life was at risk. I'd had a VERY long conversation with Dr. Gaziano where I VERY clearly stated I wanted to tear along the path of least resistance rather than receive the cut. In the heat of the moment, he flat out lied to me by playing the "dead baby card" so of course, I let him cut me. My labor and delivery at the hands of this man has caused SO much stress and trauma for me over the last several months since my daughter was born. Fortunately I have a video of the birth in the process of being recovered from a broken computer. When I get my hands on the video, I am going to find where he lied to me, I am going to have proof that I was hooked to a Pitocin drip and, while I'm not looking to sue anyone, I will be having a nice long meeting with the head of the hospital.
