Dr. Emanuel Husu, MD

I recently saw Dr. Husu after having previously been a patient following an accident where I broke my back seven years ago. I would recommend NO other doctor than Dr. Husu for pain management care and treatment. He is that rare doctor who has both compassion, knowledge, and the willingness to take the time to not only listen to you, but also thoroughly delve into your best options for a course of treatment tailored to your unique situation. You can count on Dr. Husu to be 100% honest with you. Just an outstanding doctor all the way around.

Dr. Husu is a doctor I wish I had never met! After he did a neurostimulator implant on me in June of 2023 and it was supposed to be an outpatient procedure. Due to some complications I needed to be admitted. I was in recovery all day until around 6:00 p.m due to the fact that no one knew how to do and admit and it was pretty much a mess. I asked that he schedule the revision for an overnight stay this time to avoid spending hours in the recovery and to be proactive since I did have complications the last time. Rather then him simply telling me he couldn’t schedule me for an overnight stay because he actually has no privileges at the main hospital to do so he told me lie after lie. First it was he didn’t want to because there were too many patients with Covid and flu, then it was because of insurance reasons then it was, it was too hard to get on the schedule at the main hospital, then it was he could just have me stay in recovery until 6:00 p.m and then admit me. We finally came to the… agreement he would just admit me after a couple of hours in recovery. Why he didn’t just tell me he had no privileges at the main hospital I don’t know. So I again ended up in the recovery room until this time 7:00 p.m because by the time he asked the nurse to admit me I was told there were no rooms available in the hospital and I would have to stay in the ER which was not acceptable. The recovery nurse was so upset by all of this that she told me she had to go in her office and close her door and “rip him a new one” because of all the lies he told me. He then apparently leaves town with out even mentioning it to me so after a week in the hospital when I call to schedule my two week follow up I’m told Dr. Husu is out indefinitely and there for they could not schedule any appointments and did not know when they would be able to do so. His office staff is also very rude and disrespectful as well as uncaring and unprofessional. This is not the first incident I’ve had with Dr. Husu and at this point I wish I had never met him. Needless to say I am currently seeking a new doctor. I must add the stay a Baylor main was a horrific, terrifying experience as well which has left me with PTSD. I had a nurse come in my room the day after surgery and force flex my ankles as hard as she possibly could which caused the most unimaginable pain all the way up my spine which caused me to scream out in sever pain. The physical therapist was watching from the hallway waiting to see me and when she came in asked if I was ok because she had seen what the nurse did and she couldn’t believe or know why she would do something like that. The entire process was just awful. I honestly believe I have PTSD after all of it.

Showed me that after living with excruciating chronic pain for over 35 years I can stop taking Pain Meds cold turkey and to just live with the pain. I'm anxious to e what the results will be.

He listens and lets patients talks best part, he listens. He has diagnosed and works hard to make me feel better. Always ready to try something new but only if he trusts it. Not just a doctor but also a human being!

Dr. Husu spent over an hour with me during my initial visit and answered every single question my husband and I had. He never once doubted my pain or my symptoms, despite being a complex case (I've had 3.5 years of chronic pain without a diagnosis). I'm sure we set his schedule way behind, but he never once made us feel rushed. He made sure he understood exactly what I was saying and that he thoroughly understood my symptoms. I left feeling such HOPE! I went in for a nerve block yesterday and he was running almost 2 hours late. When he come in to talk before the procedure he apologized profusely and one of the first things he said was "your pain is very important to me, I'm so sorry to have made you wait." Any anger I had at being made to wait immediately diffused. Dr. Husu is incredibly genuine, kind-hearted, knowledgeable, and sympathetic. I feel very blessed to have found him!
