Dr. Emanuel Martinez, MD

If you are on Medicare, don't waste your time. I only have Medicare as insurance. I was told my insurance didn't pay fast enough for me to be seen. This was after I had been told on the phone that I could pay my copay and be seen. I then drove over an hour to my appointment just to be told my insurance didn't pay fast enough so I wouldn't be seen. The providers at the St. Augustine location provide an excellent service. Unfortunately, they are in the same office as a manager who doesn't care if you are seen for the help you're needing or not.

I have loss count of the number years that I've seen Dr. Martinez, maybe 15 to 18 years. He put me on a medication that made me see how non depressed people see the world. I see Virginia Greiner for my meds management and I have actually come to consider her as a true friend. She is so caring and never fails to return your calls. She is a fine lady.

Dr Martinez is caring, competent and overall a great psychiatrist. He takes the time you need in your appointment, explains things and is a great listener. I have seen him for 8 years now and he is amazing!

He is an amazing man and doctor and I see one of his psychologist, Dr. Polly Pederson who is absolutely the reason I am so well today, along with Dr. Martinez 's diagnosis and medicine. They are not in my insurance network, but I still use their services!!

After establishing years of care with Dr Martinez he turned his back on me after having my 2nd child. I thought he cared, but was wrong. I weaned off my medication after desiring to become pregnant again after 7 years and miscarriages in between. Dr Martinez informed me the medications were not safe for a fetus. I had a terrible pregnancy and my child was delivered 10 weeks early. She spent 6 weeks in the NICU. After several attempts to reach out to Dr. Martinez for a much needed appointment I was told he closed my case out because he hadn't seen me in months. You would think given my extensive psychiatric background he would agree to see me, but he refused. I explained I am suffering severe post partum depression with debilitating panic attacks. He said contact my insurance company to find a different doctor because he will no longer work with me. if I wasn't already depressed enough this was so cold because I thought he actually cared. It turns out if he can't feed me… scripts he doesn't want to be bothered me. It was hard getting through my pregnancy without out it but I did and now I have to keep my baby boy fighting.

I've been seeing Cindy for about 3 years. She is a very professional practitioner. She is highly recommended!

I find it rather amusing that people write how caring these Dr.s are but if you don't have $300 or more for an initial visit, or, as in my daughters case, she has Staywll and by all means, they can't take that because its a part of the welfare program....Don't judge...she's a hard worker and going to school. BUT,,,these so called "caring" Dr's care much more for the MONEY than the problems of many people out there....Just food for thought!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Martinez is a very caring, exceptionally qualified psychiatrist. He is one of the best diagnosticians in the Jacksonville area. Whereas many doctors just hand you a prescription and send you on your way, Dr. M takes the time to get to the heart of the issue and get the right diagnosis and medication for your condition. He leaves you laughing and feeling better about your prospects for a better life.

Every visit is an uplifting experience.The man is brilliant , a cornucopia of knowledge..He's a good guy
