Emely Zoraida Karam Aguilar, MD

Dr. Emely Karam Aguilar is an ophthalmologist who specializes in the comprehensive care of eye conditions and vision disorders. She completed her fellowship training in ophthalmology at University Military Hospital in 1994, followed by specialized neuro-ophthalmology fellowships at Universidad Central De Venezuela in 1995 and Tufts - New England Medical Center in 1997. Dr. Aguilar also completed surgical residency training at Hospital Central Dr. Luis Ortega in 1991 and additional neurophthalmology residency training at University Military Hospital in 2022. She is fluent in both Spanish and English.

Dr. Aguilar practices at the Robert B. Green Campus of University Health in San Antonio, Texas. Her expertise includes treating patients with eye pain, optic neuritis, and various forms of eye irritation. She utilizes advanced diagnostic imaging techniques, including MRI scans of the head and neck, to evaluate complex eye and vision conditions that may involve neurological components.
