Dr. Emerson A. Lim

I was referred to Emerson Lim MD in the spring of 2017 with a very aggressive Stage 4 Metastatic Prostate Cancer. Given the fact that my cancer had metastasized into my back and pelvis, my prognosis was poor at best. Dr. Lim immediately started my on hormonal therapy as well as six rounds of chemo. Then following the chemo, he developed a unique protocol for me, which included the introduction of Zytiga and Prednisone. When I started the Zytiga, I was the only patient in America on this protocol. The side effects from the chemo along with the other medications was very difficult for me. But gradually I felt better and now, over two years later, I am feeling very well. My cancer is now asleep, as Hamza Habib, MD describe my condition. Both Dr. Habib and Dr. Lim have given me a very positive long term prognosis. During these past two years, Dr. Lim has been very supportive and caring. He is also very modest in terms of taking the credit that he deserves for saving my life. Dr. Lim took a great deal of time to explain my prostate cancer issues .... both primary and secondary. Courteous, gentle, patient, calm.... This was an extremely difficult appointment, but we went away with a perspective what the issues are and how to proceed.
