Dr. Emil Gus Cappetta

Our Team: Dr. Emil Cappetta, DMD
In private practice since 1975, Dr. Cappetta is well known for delivering an array of excellent periodontal services, specializing in periodontal care and surgery.
After attending Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn, Dr. Cappetta went on to graduate Cum Laude from the City University of New York.  He then attended New Jersey Dental School for his DMD and practiced general dentistry for 3 years before earning his Dental Specialty Degree from the Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry. 
Wanting to share his knowledge and passion, Dr. Cappetta spent many years as Faculty in Periodontics at the New Jersey Dental School, Columbia University School of Dental Medicine, and Farleigh Dickinson Dental School.

Dr. Cappetta's well-known work has grown a busy and successful practice, as well as awarded him with a number of recognitions and achievements including: Boy Scouts of America Man of the Year/Summit NJ Chapter; Eucharistic Minister Saint Teresa Roman Catholic Church/Summit, NJ; Board Certified Diplomate American Academy of Periodontology; Diplomate American Academy of Oral Implantology; Diplomate International Congress of Oral Implantology; Associate Fellow American Academy of Implant Dentistry; Fellow International Congress of Oral Implantology; and Fellow International Academy of Dentists.  Dr. Cappetta has also been voted as one of New Jersey's Best Dentists by New Jersey Monthly Magazine in 3 consecutive issues!
Dr. Cappetta has also been part of number of publications in the field of Periodontal Dentistry.  He was Co-Editor of Periodontal Therapy: Clinical Approaches and Evidence of Success, Volume I, Author of an article in The International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry: "A Five-Year Evaluation of an All-Porcelain Crown System/Optek Crowns", and Co-Author of a chapter in Tissue Engineering: "Applications in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Periodontics".
