Dr. Emily Ruth Baker, MD

Emily Baker didn't understand hypothyroidism and didn't think major changes in my TSH levels were concerning. She advised a nurse to lower my levothyroxine dose when the dose should have been increased. I refused the change because it was obviously incorrect, I know because I was first diagnosed 6 years prior and knew how levothyroxine worked. My TSH levels were then at dangerous levels, which was confirmed when I switched to DHMC in Concord. Refused to send records to Alice Peck Day, but I got around it by going the extra distance to DHMC Concord. She claimed that she did not recognize me as a patient after I had seen her frequently for 20 weeks of pregnancy, when I had to transfer back to DHMC in Lebanon due to pre-eclampsia. Poorly treated hypothyroidism during pregnancy is a risk factor for pre-eclampsia.
