Dr. Emily Yap Chan, MD

Dr Emely she is excellent Dr and who care for her patients and explain what going own with the test and everything, to sad to see her have to go to other hospital , we all miss her.

She is one of the best doctor's I've ever been to. I was really nervous about my first appointment. Due to my health condition, I will need to see an endocrinologist for the rest of my life, so it's important to me to find the right doctor who is a good fit. I was pretty much assuming it would be very difficult to find a good doctor and find one that I was comfortable with. I'm usually pretty shy and get really nervous at appointments for some reason! Anyway, Dr. Chan was a godsend, I am so thankful my surgeon referred me to her. She spent almost an hour during our first appointment to explain everything to me in detail and answer all my questions. She is organized, she takes your questions seriously, and even though our first appointment was long, she really doesn't waste your time, she gets straight to the point. She also has a secure email system which she uses to handle the majority of the communication outside her office visits. I love it! She is extremely responsive and it cuts… out the need for unnecessary appointments. In my case, if it wasn't for her email system I'd probably be spending my life in doctors appointments just to get through all my test results. She is very easy to talk to and she makes me feel like she truly cares about my well being. Best of all, I was expecting to have a very difficult road, but nothing has been as bad as I imagined! She has me feeling great! She an amazing doctor! I wish she wasn't just my endocrinologist, I wish I could go to her for everything! Can we clone her? Just kidding ;)

Confirmed with her that she would cover diabetes care and high blood pressure care. The following week, was in ER and she told them she doesn't cover the blood pressure care. She actually lied to patient!

Dr. Chan has been a professional caring being, taking time to listen to your symptoms, asking questions before proceeding to diagnose your problem. She is very thorough, organized, and gives you her whole attention. She also shares her notes with you after the visit and if needed, will schedule other tests required at another site. Dr. Chan has always been polite besides exhibiting a positive attitude which gives the patient full confidence while being examined. I look forward to seeing her as she makes you feel very comfortable besides knowing that she is knowledgeable in her field. I would urge anyone in need of this type of doctor, to select her as you will benefit greatly from what she can offer you. I would not refer my friend. She asked me questions but didnt listen to my answers. She already knew my diagnosis before she listened to me. I am switching doctors. I don't trust her after our first and only appointment.
