Dr. Emily Liang Chou, MD

I find Dr. Emily Liang Chou to be very professional and the warmest , nicest Dr. I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I have seen her 4 times now at the Shaw Ridge Rd, San Diego office and she was not even my primary doctor. She has such a warm smile on her face that automatically makes you feel better. If I needed to pick a primary doctor and she was taking patients,, it would be an easy choice for me to pick her!!!!!! = )) rjf. Oceanside, Ca.

Dr. Chou was not the right fit for me but added to this was her rude accusing behavior and making me feel very uncomfortable. She was confrontational and brining up my husbands visit during my visit. This was my appointment with her it should have nothing to do with my husband. I was her patient at that moment not him. I felt so uncomfortable I told her this patient dr relationship is not going to work and I will find another pcp who can act professional and then I left. I have to back track to our first appointment when i came in with a severe hand injury. The most disturbing aspect was when I handed her my medication list she nearly gasped and said you take all these meds Wow this is only 20 min apt. First off I was not asking for any medication I was giving her my med list because usually dr's want to know what their patients are taking. Then she proceeded to talk football (chargers) with my husband while I sat there waiting for treatment on my hand injury. I was so… frustrated and couldn't believe her manner. So I scheduled a follow up with her and that when the above incident happened and I left her office. Between these two visits I was told to contact her via Kaiser email within 2 days if not feeling better or if I had any questions. So I contacted her about 2 weeks later when I was experiencing a sever headache that has lasted 5 days. She instructed some to make an appointment which I did. The pain for so severe I begin to vomit seriously felt worse than after I gave birth. I got in the next day to see a dr that was covering for her. He examined me and came to conclusion I was having a migraine. He prescribed Some Meds and told me to contact Dr. Chou if I wasn't feeling better in a few days. Well the migraine kept on and I reached out via phone and message with no response u tail a receptionist called me giving me medical advice per Dr Chou. If she had read the past apt notes and messages she would have known I had already been doing all the other things she instructed. So this went back and forth for a few days Until I couldn't take the pain anymore and sought out a private practice pcp. Come to find out Dr Chou doesn't read her kp.org messages she has a nurse Lvn respond and decide on treatment without even being informed of patients condition . This is illegal and not in an Lvn scope of practice. They were prescribing and signing off on medications and advice without even consulting with Dr Chou . I could go on and on but mostly I'm writing this for people to take the time to get to know a dr before you have them assigned as your pcp. Healthcare is so out of control and I understand dr's are so impacted and busy but that does not excuse the things I went through in just two little weeks with Kaiser and Dr. Chou/ staff. Someone really needs to look into how they practice and remind them of the scope of practice, their privileges and their limitations. LVN or RN cannot perscribe treatment In the form of medication . They are getting away with it by signing off as the Dr

Doctor Chou is the nicest and warmest doctor I have ever seen. She is genuinely caring. She is also very professional, making every visit enjoyable. Seeing doctor Chou is like seeing a personal friend. I am glad that she is my primary doctor.

I have been seeing Dr EMILY LIANG CHOU for the last 5 years. All I can say is that I love her. She's such a nice Dr. I am glad she's my Dr.

For the amount of pain I was in when I arrived, Dr. Chou made me forget why I was there. very Nice and my leg a week later is healing like she said .
