Dr. Emily Marg Garabedian, MD

Biography
I was born and raised in New York and come to the Inland Empire by way of the Bay Area, where I worked for three years at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco as part of my training. I joined Kaiser Permanente Riverside in 2003 because I feel strongly that the Kaiser Permanente health care system is one of the best in the United States. I am very proud to be a part of this team. I also carry the honorary title of clinical assistant professor at UC Riverside, where I volunteer my time to teach embryology to medical students.

About my practice
I have multiple clinical interests. Before my MD, I earned a PhD in developmental biology. I studied the molecular mechanisms of cell fate specification in …the small intestine, and I still maintain a special interest in gastroenterology. I also enjoy neonatal medicine and try to keep up my clinical skills working in our neonatal intensive care unit. At the other end of the spectrum, I enjoy working with teenagers and have especially tried to educate myself about eating disorders.

How I thrive
When I am not at work, I most enjoy spending time with my husband, son, and daughter. I also ride my bike (with my helmet!) and go for a swim at least once a week. I look forward to seeing your children grow up over the years-may they eat well, play hard, and thrive!
