Dr. Emily Lauren Jacobson, MD

I first came across Dr. Jacobsen while at the U of M Spine clinic one day while she briefly visited the spine doctor addressing as part of her training. In spite of my spinal woes Iwas immediately impressed with her depth of knowledge and kindly manner, so much so that I looked her up to see where she settled next, which was the East Ann Arbor Adult and Pediatric clinic. Needing a GP, I signed on with this practice, and ended up with her as my doctor. From the very beginning my husband and I could see she had the best 'bedside manner' of any. Her depth of knowledge on many medical issues as well as her compassion suited me well as one of her older adult patients with many chronic issues gnawing at me simultaneously. She managed somehow to take them all on, yet stretch time during our appointments to cover how I was feeling, mentally, She never seemed hurried, so different from some doctors whose schedules drive them to distraction. She saw me through various ailments, including the… terror of a minor stroke, showing me what had happened by actually looking at the MRI scan. I will feel indebted to her for the much good she did me while I mourn her absence from the practice itself as she moves on to Pediatrics. I wish her the very best luck and the true sense of fulfillment every doctor longs for in the difficult landscape of medicine these days. Best of luck, to you, Dr. Jacobson!
