Dr. Emily Anne Ketterer, MD

She doubted an episode I had. Mocked me for researching it on the internet. No real answers ever given about issues I have. Won't discuss my mental health issues. when I try to talk about it. Won't guide me to the next step I need to take. I have to ask. Says "what do you want me to do for you"...um, you tell me. I read other wonderful reviews about her, I want that kind of treatment.

I followed Dr. Ketterer from Lawrenceville Family Health Center to Renaissance. She is both my PCP and Psychiatrist. I would recommend her to anyone! She really cares about her patients. She is also very respectful of her patient’s time. Her office is the only doctor’s office that I have been to that always runs on time.

This woman is incompetent and shouldn’t be treating patients. She prescribed me something to “regulate my hormones.” Well I started passing out in yoga classes and gained thirty pounds, she told me to stay on the medication. No empathy for patients. Horrible woman, I refuse to call her a doctor. Do not go to her. Also her office, Renaissance Family Practice, rarely responds to calls. Whole office is a dumpster fire of epic proportions.

DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR under any circumstances. TOO long a story to go into but overall; she treated a family member of mine, put the family member on a medication, then 2 weeks later, my family member presented with a side effect which was stated on the sheet of paper to "CALL THE DOCTOR"- which the family member did. She saw this Doctor, who proceeded to say "STAY ON THE MEDICATION"- and referred my family member to a specialist. Now, my family member is facing a biopsy. BEWARE of this DOCTOR!!! GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

When I was in the middle of talking and she turned her back on me and left, I was stunned. Everyone has a bad day now and then so I gave her one more try. At that appointment, I asked for a referral to a neurologist. She told me to go home and look in the phone book. Completely ignored my request. When I also told her that I’ve had the flu for six weeks, she told me to “wait it out.” So, the result is that I have completely wasted my time. I’m sick and she won’t treat me or refer me to someone who will. Don’t waste your time.

I saw this provider for some mental health issues. This is the first provider who wanted to get to know me as a person and not just pass me along to someone else or to write out a bunch of unneeded medications. She took time to get to know me which I appreciated and understand my wishes for treatment. Great doctor and great visit. She's a GREAT doctor to the UPMC team.
