Dr. Emily B Mclaughlin, MD

I went to Dr. Emily McLaughlin to have implant removal and a breast lift. My original Dr. had retired so I had to find another. Dr. McLaughlin comes across very confident and reassuring that everything would be great. Well…it has been the most regretful experience of my life. After the first surgery to remove the implants, led to my left breast not healing properly with skin necrosis at the incision site that was horrific and the stitching looked like a 2 year old had done it around the nipple revision. Stitches were poking through the skin and and just very uncomfortable. Went to the office for them to clip stitches and confirm that my skin was literally dying and then asked if I was overall happy with them? Are you kidding me? Ending up with a botched nipple, 2nd surgery to remove a major seroma that burst through the skin after being drained 3 times and being told it was fat necrosis…told she would repair the botched nipple from the lift which wasn’t done and is so ugly! … Removed more tissue than she explained to me and now have a significantly smaller left side than the right. Emily couldn’t even be bothered to come in and talk to me after surgery or the first follow up visit to explain. While in recovery Dr. McLaughlin came out and told my Husband and my Mother to tell me not to freak out when I saw my breast……..then brought her dogs in the waiting room and laid in the floor playing with them. When I woke from surgery was asked if I could walk while not even knowing what was going on and and was rushed out the back door staggering to the car… I could go on and on and haven’t even touch on all the details of just lack of professionalism or care and lies…now after hours of crying and anxiety will have to research a new Dr. to fix this mess… I highly do NOT recommend Dr. Emily McLaughlin!!!

Dr. McLaughlin is not absolutely not the surgeon to pick for nipple reconstruction. I got surgery done with Dr. McLaughlin for my bifid/split nipple, with the goal of making it look more normal. Dr. M greeted me with massive confidence, repeatedly stating she could stitch it up in no time, no problem. Blind confidence really, which fooled me. Unfortunately she failed. The first surgery did not heal correctly- actually looked worse than it did originally. She honorably then did the surgery again about 3 months later, for free, as were all the following check ups. She had a lot of integrity and I do respect that. However, you do not seek out a surgeon for personality traits alone-you seek them based off skill. In my opinion, Dr. M lacks skill surrounding nipple reconstruction. I wish I had sought out a surgeon who specialized in this. I was 17 the first consultation I had with Dr. M, and her bubbly personality and confidence made me trust her. I should have done better research. She… had never done this surgery before, and it’s apparently rare, but she made it seem like a walk in the park. $1000 and 5 months of uncomfortable healing later, and my nipple now looks botched and ugly. After undergoing 2 surgeries, I’ve now built up scar tissue and am left with an unnatural looking nipple-dramatic crease separating it laterally as if it’s two nipples, with crinkly edges that do not connect at one side. At our final checkup, Dr. M said “That’s the best I can do.” I believe that. So if you’re specifically looking for a plastic surgeon who can fix a nipple issue, find one that specializes in it, and get it done right the first time so you can rest easy.

After being quoted a very specific price for 6 treatments of Emsculpt, I verified this price again prior to my appointment. It was a price fairly on par with most competition. I arrived for my initial appointment. The space could've definitely been a good bit cleaner and smelled better, and someone could've greeted me at reception, but oh well. After being asked to complete all my paperwork online so everything would go smoothly, I was then handed the same packet in the office to complete again. Annoying, but not that big of a deal. I was then taken into what I assume was a non-treatment room and told I could do just a series of treatments for one rate or an up-charged "membership" whereby I could receive an additional two treatments per month for a minimum of three months commitment. I declined and stated that I was only interested in what I had booked the appointment for. The associate says, annoyed, let me go see what I can do. She comes back and gives me an entirely different price… again. Then tells me they normally don't even do it unless you join the membership program because the results don't last without maintenance treatments, a complete contradiction to her earlier statement about their being two options for treatment and everything the makers of Emsculpt purport on their website. I explained again what I was quoted and she says, "ok, well no hard feelings, but we won't do that". As a busy executive and single dad, taking off work for something thoroughly researched and planned out only to have an experience like this is unacceptable and shameful.

My experience with WMPS has been life changing and life enhancing. Emily McLaughlin is an angel here on Earth! She treats every single patient who walks through the door at WMPS as if they were the only person in the building. She listens to her patients, she asks them questions and then she is honest, kind and gives you real answers. She has a heart bigger than Texas and truly has a passion in her soul for helping & healing people. Period. Besides being an incredible human being, she is a God gifted talented surgeon. She possess skills that few surgeons have. I know first hand what it takes to be a great surgeon, I have worked in the OR with 100's of surgeons for the last 35 years. So I have a well informed knowledge base to make this statement. She creates beauty from the moment she executes a plan for each patient. She gets to know you before she ever talks "surgery". She has a great team who also are talented professionals with huge hearts. My life has been changed and enhanced by… being Dr McLaughlin's patient. Her talents are extraordinary, creating beauty from the inside out! Thank You to Dr McLaughlin and her entire team at WMPS.

I am extremely satisfied with my results. I am more confident and my experience was great! Dr. Mclaughlin and the girls at the office are so helpful and informative.

I have seen Dr. McLaughlin for over 10 years and cannot recommend her more highly. She is a perfectionist in her work and your results show it. I have had several proceedures...some small, some not, and have never had anything but stunning results. She will never "sell" you on anything and will decline to perform any procedure she feels is unwarranted. She is all about looking your best naturally! Love her and her accommodating staff!

I have injections with Dr. McLaughlin a couple times a year. She is professional and I am always happy with my results.

The first time I met Dr McLaughin I knew I was picking her to be my surgeon. At my initial consultation she took the time to explain what to expect post tummy tuck, lipo and breast lift. Dr. McLaughlin did my breast augmentation and I have been heavily self conscious ever since. I ended up getting an infection in my left breast, that's now incapsulated. She also talked me into going over the muscle instead of under because she said "I was the perfect candidate for it." I went three times to confirm and discuss that over the muscle was concerning but she was certain it was the best for my body type. My breast implants 6 months after surgery were completely sagging as the implants are basically hanging off of the breast tissue and my nipples pointing downward. I went back to her and her solution was to do another costly surgery to fix her mistake that she made in the first place. My surgery took no more than 40 minutes and I was rushed out of there like it was a drive through surgery. They never followed up on me and oddly enough they never asked for the after photos for documentation (I wonder why.) I am now having to spend a large amount of money to remove my… implants and have a lift. I wouldn't usually give such a poor review on someone but it was her lack of interest and poor judgment that brings me to writing this review. Please do your research before visiting this practice.
