Emily Weiss, APNP

Medical Practice
Emily Weiss, APNP, started her nursing career in the emergency department caring for patients with acute illness and injury. She was inspired by an undergraduate professor to advance her career and obtain a Master of Science in Nursing to become a nurse practitioner. Upon graduation, Emily developed a passion for orthopedics.
Her approach to care is patient-centered which tailors a plan of care to be personalized to each individual patient. Emily finds preoperative education empowers a patient to have successful outcomes and reduces the anxiety of undergoing surgery or coping with unexpected injury.
“Orthopedic surgery is a great discipline to participate in as a nurse practitioner, and utilizes my educational skills to the fullest extent possible. Acute injuries are not planned for and can be life altering. As a nurse practitioner, we provide physical care to patients, but must also be attentive to the social ramifications of an injury. Personal Interests
Outside of work, Emily enjoys bike riding, hiking, and spending time with her three chihuahuas. She enjoys the fall season for baking and watching football.
