Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I chose to pursue a career in medicine, specifically psychiatry, because I fell in love with the ability to help and heal others through more than just medical intervention. While medicine is amazing and important, so is genuine human connection and believing in the strength of others. My belief in medicine in combination with my belief in others is why I chose a career in psychiatry. What I want my patients to know about me:Combining professionalism with genuineness and laughter is very important to me. I strive to remaining optimistic while recognizing the importance of empathy and allowing time for feeling and healing when necessary. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:Fishing, hiking, playing outside with my dogs, hanging out with my family, and going to the beach.
