Emily Ruimveld, NP, chose a career as a nurse practitioner after being inspired by the compassionate care she witnessed from nurses and nurse practitioners throughout her training. She was drawn to cardiothoracic surgery because of the remarkable progress patients can make in a short period of time when provided with attentive, high-quality care.Emily finds great fulfillment in connecting with her patients, helping them understand their health and empowering them to take an active role in their treatment. Her collaborative approach and passion for education help create a positive, supportive experience for patients and their families.Outside of work, Emily enjoys giving back to her community as a coach for Girls on the Run. She also loves spending time with family and friends, especially outdoors, whether it’s walking her dogs, running with friends, gardening or relaxing at the beach.
