Dr. Emily Jane Tanael, MD

Dr. Tanael is a full time physician at my place of business. Every time i have seen her she takes the time to explain her diagnosis. I had a major problem with muscle cramping and she was able to accurately diagnose that it was a vitamin D deficiency before the blood work proved her right. My cardiologist knows of her and said she is a great Dr. and we are lucky to have her on staff.

Dr. Tanael is not a competent doctor. During our visit, I told her that I was very ill, and had never felt this bad before. She gave me a checkup, including listening to my lungs & said I had a cold. I told her I believed I had something much worse than a "cold", and she said, these were her exact words:"I'm sure you feel like crap right now, but take some Tylenol and Robitussun, and you'll be fine in a couple of days". I called the next day & said I was much worse, and could barely function. I am not a hypochondriac - in fact, I rarely even have a cold. She was not in, but they said she'd call the next morning. I waited, she never called. When I finally called her at 11am, she got defensive & said she had "ALOT of other patients waiting for her to call". I went to an immediate care center who immediately diagnosed me with a severe case of pneumonia, and I had to be hospitalized. The lung X-ray showed that my lungs were filled with fluid. That couldn't have happened overnight. Because… of Dr. Tanael, I waited too long, and the illness progressed so far that it became "unresolving pneumonia" which set me on an odyssey of visits with pulmonary doctor and CAT scans. I am now left with scarred lungs, and it was entirely avoidable, if she'd only listened to what I was saying to her. I am a middle-aged, articulate woman, who in no way came across as hysterical, yet she dismissed me. Not a good doctor!
