Emily Wiecek, OD, PHD

Dr. Emily Wiecek is a pediatric optometrist in the Department of Ophthalmology at Boston Children’s Hospital and an assistant professor of ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School who specializes in pediatric vision care, strabismus, amblyopia, visual rehabilitation, and comprehensive pediatric eye examinations. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry and later completed a residency in pediatric optometry at several Boston-area hospitals. Dr. Wiecek also holds a PhD focused on clinically based psychophysical assessment and conducted research at the Schepens Eye Research Institute studying the quantification of visual function. Her clinical and research interests center on pediatric visual development, concussion-related vision disorders, and improving functional vision assessment and rehabilitation for children and adolescents with complex ophthalmologic and neurologic conditions.
