Emma attributes the circle of midwives who have supported her as the biggest influence in her chosen career path. As Emma has seen the positive impact midwives can have all over the world, it inspired her to join such an incredible profession. “Midwifery is such a unique career path because it is based on trusting the human body and what it is capable of while creating space for science and medicine when needed. I love getting to work with patients across their lifespan and through some of the most life altering and vulnerable times in their life. Each day brings new patients, new stories, and new challenges. I enjoy working with people to help improve their lives in ways that matter to them” says Emma.Emma has a strong passion for global women's health and experiencing the culture of birth all around the world. She has spent time alongside healthcare workers in developing nations such as Uganda and Haiti who are working to reduce infant and maternal mortality. Closer to …home, Emma enjoys advocating for policies in government to reduce health disparities and promote reproductive rights.In her free time, Emma enjoys traveling, reading, baking, family game nights and spending time outdoors.Each person is a unique human with unique needs. I want every patient I interact with to feel listened to and empowered to make decisions in their care. There is no ""one size fits all"" method to midwifery and it is my goal to provide compassionate care to all people.
