Dr. Emmanuel M Guizano, MD

am a retired RN and practiced clinical nursing for some 25 years. Dr. Guizano was assigned to take care of me as an in patient at Binghamton General Hospital. At a time in my life when I was most vulnerable - finding myself in tremendous, intolerable pain - he was insulting, demeaning, and dishonest. In our first meeting, he told me he did not believe the intense pain that I was experiencing. He also stated I did not have the education to understand the answers to the questions I was asking. Shortly thereafter, I was seen by Dr. ____, a rheumatologist who recognized and appreciated my condition and prescribed medicine that improved my condition. As I was in the process of recovering, Dr. Guizano visited me again. He did not apologize for his comments during our first meeting; instead, he said to me that he had spoken to the rheumatologist and that she agreed that I was to be discharged. I thought this was unlikely because I was about to begin a new medication and the condition… for which I was admitted had not yet fully been resolved. My husband called my rheumatologist and was told that she did not speak to Dr. Guizano regarding my discharge. Dr. Guizano flat-out lied to me. This person has none of the qualities one would expect of a caretaker, and I believe he is malicious and oppressive.
