Dr. Enrique Jose Ordaz, MD

just now Absolutely deplorable bedside manner. Didn’t introduce himself, put his hand up in my face and told me to sit down when I told him I’m the patient’s daughter. He was talking to 2 nursing students, which is not the priority, the family is (my mom was intubated in the ICU and very sick). I again told him he needed to be updating me instead of ignoring me. He then proceeded to walk toward me so close that I had to step back and started yelling in my face about “don’t you know who I am” etc. I had to put my hands out in front of me. I told him to get out and he threw a piece of equipment across the room. This was witnessed by the 2 students and they were extremely intimidated. The nursing director came right away and it was taken up the chain to the CEO of the hospital and the head of his practice. I was told this wasn’t the first incident with him and that his partner was out of town and couldn’t take over my mom’s care. I saw that he treated the staff the same way. I’ve been a… nurse 20 years and have never experienced such threatening behavior. I wasn’t impressed with his skills, either. Stay far away from this guy.

All in short, my parent was recommended to DR. ORDAZ to be diagnosed due to my parent lung bleeding. Turns out he couldn’t identify the issue. But during my parent diagnose procedure as DR. ORDAZ stated my parent “heart lost sync”. To my understanding the heart stopped. Medication was administer and got my parent heart back up working but out of rhythm. I asked DR. ORDAZ all the concerning question as to why the heart stopped and now out of rhythm and how the procedure went at the time. Instead of answering my questions he just said that he did nothing wrong and couldn’t diagnose my parent. He said there was nothing more he could do and plans to transfer my parent out to Baptist. As a concerning family I asked DR. ORDAZ again what could have went wrong to cause the heart to lose sync and he refused to explain, instead he said that I was being “obnoxious”. To re-assure the other family members, I then asked if Baptist has the ability to diagnose my parent or they just going to… transfer him to CMC Charlotte, if so I don’t want to prolong my parent condition and just go straight to CMC Charlotte if that is the last resort. Instead of having compassion and taking the time to explain and answer the family members questions he said “he is not going to have this conversation and don’t have time to argue” and walked out on us. From this experience I don’t recommend using DR. ORDAZ and his poor character and service. He has no compassion for his patients or their family member. As a Professional Specialist Doctor the patient and their family should be ensure that they are in good care. But from personal experience DR. ORDAZ “DOES NOT” have the quality, compassion, knowledge or wisdom to care for patients. How can we trust are Doctors in today Healthcare System?

Compassionate, takes time to listen. Really wants you to get better. Makes you feel like he genuinely cares about you. Rare doc these days.One of the good ones.

A good doctor would read through your ENTIRE pathology report before he pawns it off on his nurse to tell you your results were NEGATIVE FOR MALIGNANCY. IF DR. ORDAZ had continued reading to the end of the paragraph, he would have noticed a message which said... “SEE DIAGNOSIS COMMENT”. IF DR. ORDAZ was a good doctor & he had read the diagnosis comment... He would have known, that the specimen submitted may not have been taken from the lesion in question. Simply put... it was megative because THEY MISSED THE CANCEROUS LESION!!!! Needless to say, DR. ORDAZ had his nurse call me & inform me that MY LUNG CANCER HAD NOT SPREAD TO THE BASE OF MY SPINE, so it was a Stage 1A Invasive Mucinous Adenocarcinoma WITHOUT metastasis & should be a simple surgical fix. Even though my gut feeling felt something was wrong, I was excited & shared the news with my 20 year old son & my parents. Shortly after, I picked up a copy of the report & CD of the biopsy for my Cardio Thoracic Surgeon who would be… performing my surgery to remove my lung cancer... I’m no doctor or rocket scientist but I am smart enough to read a whole paragraph & then follow directions, proceeding to read the DIAGNOSIS COMMENT... That’s when I realized what a HUGE MISTAKE I made in trusting Dr. Ordaz. Not to mention his condescending tone, sarcasm, lack of compassion & bedside manner. After speaking with Dr. Adriana Alvarez, the Oncologist/friend, Dr. Ordaz referred me to, I insisted on another biopsy, which also came back negative. She was also lacking in MANY aspects that would make her a good doctor... So I dropped both from my team of caregivers, had a THIRD biopsy, this time an open surgical biopsy as requested by my Cardio Thoracic Surgeon, which was successful in confirming... Stage IV Invasive Mucinus Adenocarcinoma WITH metastasis to the Sacrum!!!! If I had not had my doubts in Dr. Ordaz, I never would have questioned his call... if I had not requested a second biopsy & it had gone unnoticed... Let’s just say, MY LIFE WAS IN HIS HANDS & I COULD HAVE DIED!!!! How does ones family recover from that???? How do I recover from that???? Because of Dr. Ordaz, I have to question anyone & EVERYONE with a license to practice medince... DR. ORDAZ IS A LAWSUIT WAITING TO HAPPEN. This is my OPINION from MY EXPERIENCE...
