Dr. Enzo Sella, MD

I wouldn't go to Dr. Sella again if he was the only Dr. around. I would rather live with the pain then go to him. I was seeing him because workers comp sent me to him. He said there was nothing wrong with me and that I would be fine in three months. Well it's been 15 years and I'm still in pain. I had both my shoulders operated on yet he said there was nothing wrong with me. He in my opinion sides with who ever pays him. I over heard him talking to the nurse from the insurance company about how he finally caught someone for fraud. This made me fell like I was a liar and that all the pain in was in was in my head so I went back to work. The pain got worse but I over looked it because he said there was nothing wrong with me. He ruined my life because he said I didn't need any more medical help. I did get medical help after his insults but the medical help I needed right away and now 15 years later I still have pain and there is nothing I can do about it. I tell everyone I… know the treatment he gave me and tell them find another Dr.

First he is a board certified comp doctor.This can be a issue when you are the patient on comp.Seems he will work his report to better the comp end disreguarding the patient needs.Bedside manner is awefull,hes rude,pompess and does not take the time to listen to your problem.

I broke my ankle in 3 places and was in an emergency room all nite waiting for the attending ortho dr. He came to me with no bedside manner,frightened me, so i asked that he wrap my ankle that i was going to see my surgeon Dr. Sella, I went to see him and he assured me everything would be ok, any questions i asked were answered, and he did a great job, i would highly recommend him, i always felt at ease with him.

He came right into my room and gave me everything I needed quickly. When I was about to go into surgery an assisting or intern did something to my foot that cuased me quite a bit of pain. Dr. Sella quickly addressed the intern and made me feel at ease. He was very gentle in dealing with my broken foot during my first follow-up appointment. I highly recommend him. His office staff could use a customer service lesson or two though.

I had this done a few years ago. All I can say is don't do it, especially with Dr Sella. I am now 52 and will need ankle replacement surgery. He will be the last doctor I will consult with for this next procedure.

I would rather die then see dr. Sella. Because of him I was denied medical care. He should be a doctor first and not worry about who is paying him for his opinion.

I am so unhappy with this doctor and his staff. I got major surgery this fall and the every time I've been back for post-opp surgery I feel like he doesn't even know my name, let alone what surgery he did on me. The secretaries at Guilford and Hamden seem very unhappy and rude. When I called his secretary for help with insurance she told me she "didn't have time to deal with this." When I called the billing department for a billing error they made the woman yelled at me! When I called for a refill on pain meds they ordered a brand new medication and the pharmacists said it was a highly dangerous mistake on the office's part and a good thing that I caught it before I took the medication. Dr. Sella himself has no people skills and makes it very difficult to trust him when he asks you questions like, "did we do an x ray on that foot?," "which foot are we looking at again?" "have you ever had surgery on your foot (yes I have, by HIM!! Prior to this one!)" If I could do it over again I… would never use him as my doctor or surgeon. I strongly recommend to not get yourself involved with a doctor like this- someone who is too busy to take care of you and is more interested in the amount of money he can make from you versus the genuine care he can give you. The only kind staff there that I had a good experience with are the nurses.
