Dr. Eric Robert Barlow, MD

When no other doctor prescribed me one med, Dr. Eric Barlow trusted me and prescribed it for me a while ago... and that actually saved my life. Now I am recovering from depression, hardly taking any meds. I certainly know, without him doing that at that time, I may not have turned out how I am now. And I will always remember that!

Dr. Barlow is a Great Listener with understanding and kindness!

Dr. Barlow is a caring, smart doctor. I had TMS treatment and I had minimal positive results. He put me on an antidepressant I had never been on and it has improved my depression. He has a wonderful dog he brings to work and he is a very good listener and very laid back unlike most of his peers whom are so ridged and lack personable skills. I recommend him to who ever needs help.

I've seen Dr. Barlow for a few years. At first I thought he was wanting to help, but when things weren't working, he basically dropped me. He would only see me every 2 months and then for only 5 minutes. If you have a difficult illness to diagnose, he is not your man.

Dr. Barlow recognized immediately, I assume, that I am a casual and more informal person, so he took an informed, professional but laid back approach. He was concerned with having me go over everything that concerned me, and then asked good leading questions to get into the details. He then let me ask some questions and followed up with more introspection. We went over past diagnoses and he told me why he did and didn't agree, talked about some other ways of approaching "me", not just pigeonholing me into one applicable DSM-V slot. I also have cluster headaches, chronic migraine and partial third nerve palsy; it's obvious that there are some physical anomalies in my deep brain, and it is also significant that I already take several different prescriptions to prevent and to treat those disorders, so he talked about exactly what he was prescribing and how it might and might not interact and how it might affect the nerve problems. I really like him, I keep going to him, I trust him,… and I believe what he says and does. He might not be your style. You might not like the Lakers or know anything about basketball, contrary to Dr. Barlow. But, I really recommend him to anyone I know who asks. I think he's great.

I've been seeing Dr. Barlow for 8 months and other than trying 4 or 5 different drugs, nothing has been accomplished. Beware if you use this provider he has a nurse named Marilyn that is a monster. She will treat you like dirt if you have to call in and ask a question. I hung up the telephone crying on two different occassions.

I have seen this doctor for a few years and he has always listened. He has helped me understand so many things that confused me as a child and no one else could answer. I thought something was horribly wrong with me. Also Dr Barlow helps with stressful situations like work problems. He is easy to talk too. I would recommend this doctor to my family and friends...anyone.

I met Dr. Barlow in the psych ward. He was on duty that night and started a combination of pills to ease my anxiety, depression, and help me sleep. I wound up back at Lutheran and he, again, was on call. He has been with my Dr. ever since and has always listened to my apprehension about different meds, symptons, side effect and most importantly: got me balanced. I stress if you have depression you should also seek talk therapy. I wouldn't be here without Dr. B, a loving family and my higher power.
