Dr Barnes is an outstanding nephrologist, exceptionally knowledgeable, and equally great compassion! One of the best specialty doctors I have ever met and I have worked in health care over 40 years! His expertise and care for his patients is unmatched and for anyone facing chronic kidney disease, he has my highest recommendation!!! Great work Doc!!!

The office problems persist. They are not as bad on a personal level, but seem quite disorganized. They seem to be unable to contact my GP as we had set up originally, the staff sometimes appears to be more like the old Keystone Cops, in slow-motion, but that is perhaps overstated.

Customer service is extremely lacking with this entire office. The only person that was pleasant to talk to has been the receptionist. I was hung up on by a MA who badgered me about my children’s records. They messed up the paperwork and lost their records. When they had their first appointment, the doctor was awkward, short, wasn’t prepared for the visit since he didn’t have records. It was a waste of time. When I tried to explain my dissatisfaction of how I have been treated by his staff, he cut me off multiple times, never apologized, and didn’t offer to make their office communication better. My experience and opinion didn’t matter to him. He didn’t tell my children anything the didn’t already know about their disease or treatment plan. Again, no records doesn’t make for a good first appointment. I left a VM for the office manager about this and no call back. I called and left a VM for the intake coordinator. No call back. The office refuses to correct their problem… and places it on me as the parent. I’ve done my due diligence but contacted the previous doctor asking that records be sent...again. The doctor even commented 3 TIMES that perhaps my children should be seen by another provider. He was in a hurry to leave and told me he didn’t have time to talk to me even though I wasn’t finished with our discussion. Very frustrating. We will try a different doctor in the practice.
